Good care is about reacting to what might be causing our residents distress. Cathy wasn't having a good day yesterday so Karen gave her a jig-saw to complete and they had a good blather while doing it together. We are a supportive community of care, we all have a role to play in the welfare of our residents and when its called for, we are there to do our best in helping to keep everyone on a level because we all need that from time to time right?

We enjoyed some fireworks yesterday and we managed to get a great turn out. Some of us stayed inside to watch from the comfort of the home but some others braved the evening temperatures to get more interactive. Everyone had a great time.

We set up our VR headset and let our residents sample the delights of an under sea spectacle. Interesting to see everyones reactions, all our residents commented on how relaxing it was as if they had been transported to another place. The headset is particularly good for those residents who find it hard to leave their beds. We are exploring the use of this headset more fully with other virtual worlds and experiences. Thanks to Vijay for his video wizardry!
