💙 On Friday, we took a moment as a team to celebrate Carers Week (9–15 June).

We sat down together to talk about our own experiences of being unpaid carers—or knowing someone who is. It was emotional, honest, and so moving.

We also did a little team exercise, writing down what being an unpaid carer means to us. A truly special and heartfelt afternoon 💙

🌟 Celebrating Carers Week | 9–15 June 🌟

At Care1 Professional Services, we’re proud to continue celebrating the dedication and compassion of unpaid carers during Carers Week.

Today, we’re recognising Amy Gibson, our devoted Care Supervisor, who has also taken on the deeply personal role of being an unpaid carer for her grandparents. 💙

“I have been a carer for my grandparents over the years, most recently supporting my grandma after the loss of my papa who had complex dementia. This has meant helping her through grieving, changes in health, and her daily needs. Being a support for my family is so rewarding, although it can be stressful. There have been many challenges, but I focus on the positives and make sure I spend quality time with my grandma. I’m very grateful to have people around to support and understand.”

Amy’s story reflects the emotional depth and resilience so many carers bring to their role every day. ❤️ We see you, we appreciate you, and we stand with you.

🌟 Celebrating Carers Week | 9–15 June 🌟

At Care1 Professional Services, we’re continuing to honour and recognise the incredible dedication of carers in all walks of life.

This week, we’re shining a light on one of our own – Tammie Savage, our amazing Care Manager, who is also an unpaid carer for her mum. 💙

"Being an unpaid carer for my mum is hugely rewarding, but very challenging at the same time. It can be exhausting, both physically and mentally - it often leaves you feeling lonely. With all that said, it's been very natural for me to take on this role, which I wouldn't be able to do without the help & support of my husband. Keeping my mum safe and healthy is our number one priority. I have immense respect for people who give up their own time to care for others. I think it's important that everyone in my life understands how full my life is; I have very little spare time and often can be tired. Working alongside people who understand this has been a great help."

Tammie’s story is a powerful reminder of the love, strength and sacrifice behind the scenes of so many carers' lives. ❤️ We’re proud to work alongside her and support carers everywhere.

Let’s continue to raise awareness, offer support, and show appreciation – this week and every week. 🙌

Carers Week is a UK-wide annual campaign that raises awareness of caring, shines a light on the challenges unpaid carers face, and recognises the incredible contribution they make to families and communities.

This year's theme, "Caring About Equality," highlights the inequalities many unpaid carers experience — from missed opportunities in education and careers to struggles with mental and physical health, financial hardship, and social isolation.

At Care1, we stand with carers of all ages and backgrounds. We believe in building an equal society where carers are valued, recognised, and supported — not just during Carers Week, but every day.

🧠💜 Dementia Awareness Week 2025 💜🧠

To mark Dementia Awareness Week, the Head Office Team at Care1 Professional Services came together for a special afternoon of reflection, learning, and connection.

We hosted a lovely tea party to celebrate the incredible work being done around dementia care and support. As part of our celebration, our senior leadership team took part in a ‘Spotlight on Dementia’ initiative — each illustrating key information to help shine a light on understanding dementia and how we can all play a part in supporting those affected.

It was a meaningful and inspiring afternoon raising awareness for a cause that’s close to many of our hearts 💙

This week, our amazing senior team took part in a Moving & Handling Train the Trainer course.

We’re all about keeping our skills sharp and our knowledge up to date – because delivering top-quality care starts with well-trained staff.

A huge shoutout to Iain from IM Training for coming into the Care1 office and delivering such energetic and informative sessions 👏🎓
