At Cherished Care Services, women are the heart of everything we do. From our compassionate caregivers supporting people in their homes, to the leaders guiding our teams, the dedication, strength, and kindness shown every day is truly inspiring.

Care is more than a job — it’s empathy, patience, skill, and humanity in action. The women across our team bring these qualities to every visit, every conversation, and every moment of support.

We are especially proud of the inspiring leadership within our organisation, including our Registered Manager Chandre Clarke, whose passion and commitment help ensure our clients receive the highest quality care.

Today we celebrate someone amazing at Cherished Care Services... Esther⁩ today is her 7th year anniversary as part of the Cherished Family. To put that into perspective, Cherished Care Services is only 10 years old. This means Esther has been with us for the vast majority of our entire journey. She has been a foundational part of our story, helping to shape who we are, navigating the growing pains with us, and contributing to the successes that have brought us to where we are today.

Esther, thank you. Thank you for your unwavering dedication, your hard work, and the positive energy you bring to this team.

Our new book on preventing falls at home is now available on Amazon.

Falls are one of the biggest risks for older people in the UK. Every year, one in three people aged 65 and over has at least one fall, and for those over 80 the figure rises to one in two. In 2023/24 alone, more than 219,000 emergency hospital admissions in England were caused by falls in people aged 65+.

We are making copies of this available free to all of the people we support.

Overnight, the clocks went back one hour, and as the days grow shorter and darker, people living with dementia may feel the effects of this change particularly strongly.

The shift in daylight hours can sometimes be particularly difficult for individuals who experience sundowning: a state of increased confusion, restlessness or agitation that occurs in the late afternoon or evening. Changes in light levels can disrupt the body’s internal clock, making these symptoms more noticeable at this time of year.

If someone you care for is affected by sundowning, you can support them by maintaining regular routines, providing distractions and offering reassurance. Small steps can make a big difference.
