The reasons people come to counselling or hypnotherapy are as varied as the people themselves. Often clients have encountered distressing experiences or situations about which they would like to talk to someone in a safe and confidential setting. These may include bereavement, separation or other life transitions or experiences from their past or childhood. Others seek help in dealing with specific behavioural traits which they would like to change, some may seek help with feelings or depression or anxiety or some may feel that their life is just not quite right. Whatever the reason, I can provide a safe and confidential environment in which I will listen non-judgementally and strive to understand your thoughts and feelings from your view point so that you may heal, become whole, resolve issues and achieve goals. I am what is known as an integrative counsellor, which means that I may use or combine various methods of counselling to help you. It is purely dependent on your needs. Some clients come purely for hypnotherapy because they wish to change something in their life, whether it be losing weight, giving up smoking, deal with stress or anxiety, phobias or panic attacks, anger or pain and much much more. Hypnosis is a completely safe and relaxing process which simply harnesses your own ability to overcome your problems. It is a state of complete mental and physical relaxation where the conscious mind can drift off and the unconscious mind becomes more open and receptive to suggestions. You are fully absorbed and attentive to such a degree that the outside world becomes unimportant. You, as the client, always remain in full control and able to come out of hypnosis any time you choose.
