Tonight unfortunately is Grants last drum circle. We do have some good new though. We have had some lovely ladies approach us, so hopefully there will not be a break in sessions and they can start next month. Please keep an eye out for further information. This will be a slightly different circle. It will be a women's sharing circle
🦋What Usually Happens in a Women’s Drum Circle
1. Opening & Grounding
A welcome or intention‑setting
Light breathing or grounding
An explanation of the theme for the session. This helps everyone settle, especially newcomers.
2. Learning or Sharing Rhythms, Simple drum patterns, Call‑and‑response rhythms
Layered beats that everyone can join regardless of experience. Many women’s drum circles are non‑technical, meaning anyone can participate—even if they’ve never touched a drum before.
3. Group Connection & Collective Rhythm. This is the heart of the experience. The group: Plays to a unified beat, Lets rhythms emerge naturally, Responds to each other’s energy. Sometimes incorporates chanting, singing, or humming
It becomes a shared, communal rhythm—almost meditative.
4. Expression, Release & Emotional Processing
Women’s drum circles often provide: A safe space to release stress. Emotional expression through sound. A sense of being held by the group. A way to access grounding and empowerment. Drumming has been shown in many traditions to support emotional regulation and connection.
5. Movement. Some circles may include: Free movement or gentle dancing. Rhythmic swaying. Embodied expression of the music. Movement is always optional.
6. Sharing & Reflection. The session often incorporate: A talking circle or sharing round. Optional reflection about how the drumming felt. A calming closing rhythm or short meditation to ground. This helps integrate the experience.
🌺 Why Women Choose Drum Circles. Women often attend drum circles because they: Feel safer in a women-only environment. Want connection and community
Appreciate spaces that invite emotional expression. Enjoy creativity without judgment. Want to feel empowered and grounded.
Many describe it as calming, healing, and uplifting. I hope you will enjoy them đź’ś
