Masks and asthma patient empowerment

With the return of masks, patients with asthma are keen to understand and manage their personalised ‘wellness’ routine, based on current guidance and best practice.

During the pandemic, we have been at home in a controlled environment. However, as we return to the world at large, Asthma suffers become re-exposed to environmental triggers and airborne pollutants often associated with asthma attacks.

Wearing a mask is of great importance to protect you and those around you, not only from Covid-19, but also the elements and impact of said attacks, as previously mentioned.

During government lockdowns and the imposing of strict social distancing rules and face mask-wearing, asthma sufferers have by and large avoided traditional seasonal triggers yet, the dangers remain.

CCI supports the appropriate use of face masks by all respiratory patients including asthmatics. If you remain in doubt, please refer to your GP, respiratory nurse or pharmacist for further information.
