I’ve just returned from a wonderful week away during which I did a digital detox.
Social media is a fantastic tool which allows me to connect with clients potential and existing and keep in touch with past clients too. HOWEVER, this means that between clinic hours I need to spend time creating, posting, answering questions and generally getting to know others. Now, my brain is just like everyone else’s in that when I spend large amounts of time scrolling I get dopamine hits and sucked into rabbit holes! I know the damage this can do when I need to study (which is always a need for me) or when I need long periods of concentration. So doing a detox is incredibly important for me on a regular basis.
Ahead of these detox times I worry like everyone else.
🧠 what if I loose followers.
🧠 what if my clients think I don’t care.
🧠 what if something important is missed.
I recognise now this is just my lovely brain trying to get me to continue. It’s a craving and requires zero attention. Stick to the plan and execute it.
One week later I feel fully rested. Calm, refreshed and ready to start the next 6 week push before summer.
I’m almost full clinic for the next 6 weeks and so my clients will get the very best of me. 😇

I LOVE this quote from
At Christmas I did a digital detox. The first couple of days I felt really quite unsettled and kept feeling like something was missing.
This quickly passed and I found my thought patterns changing. Simple things like deciding what to make for supper out of leftovers was easier and less irritating. Wanting to bake a cake rather than ‘having to’ .Loosing hours in my latest book. The list is endless.
My sleep was deeper, my enjoyment was stronger and my connection to my family was greater. All from being away from my digital devices for a few days.
I’m planning on another this summer. 👙🏝
Feels rather disingenuous to be asking for your opinion via social media as I’m recommending a pause from it 🤣 but hey how else can I ask you 🤷‍♀️

I woke up to find a lovely testimonial from a client which started my week with a smile.😀
Julie arrived with what she believed was a phobia and wanted me to remove it. Once we discussed more it soon became apparent that she had a VERY full stress bucket and so we parked the phobia just for a few sessions.
4 weeks later, Julie mentioned that she hadn’t thought about her phobia. By the end of her sessions the phobia had resolved itself and she had a dislike of the phobic item and it caused no reaction.
This happens more often than you’d think.
Whether you have a phobia or anxiety it feels VERY real and very uncomfortable.
