🥞✨ National Pancake Day Celebrations! ✨🥞

What better way to celebrate than with a pancake coffee morning, complete with a delicious selection of toppings for everyone to enjoy?

The clear favourite was the classic lemon and sugar, with Nutella coming in a very close second! 🍋🍫
We paired our pancakes with a lively singalong bingo session, plenty of conversation, and lots of laughter. It was a wonderful morning filled with smiles, sweet treats, and great company.

A perfect way to bring everyone together! 💛

🧶 Our Woolly Mammoth Is in Full Operation! 🐘

Our resident Wendy has been hard at work creating beautiful knitted square patches as part of our exciting community blanket project.

Every Wednesday, our knitting club meets in the day centre, where residents come together to knit their squares. Once completed, all the squares will be carefully stitched together to create one stunning blanket.

We can’t wait to reveal the finished masterpiece watch this space all will be revealed!

Today we shared the love when our lovely therapy dog Winston came for cuddles, complete with a shiny red bow. He brought smiles to everyone’s faces. 🐾❤️

We caught up with some of our resident dog lovers, who told us all about their very special pooches. Maggie had a beloved Westie called Barney, and Brian also had a much-loved Westie named Shena. Jean has a cockapoo called Dixie, and Hazel fondly remembers her cherished family Labrador, Sadie.🐶❤️

Whilst on our rounds, we bumped into Ron, who had arrived with a beautiful card and a box of chocolates for his dear wife Amanda – proving that romance has no limits, regardless of a lifetime of marriage.❤️

Happy Valentines everyone ❤️

Today we held our monthly dementia friendly church service for our residents.
These church services provide comfort, familiarity, and a sense of peace, with known hymns and reflection that many residents connect with. Even when words are hard to find, the music and atmosphere bring calm, smiles, and reassurance ⛪🙏

Operation Woolly Mammoth Has Landed at Willow Court Care Home!

We’re bringing our residents and local community together for a heart warming winter project! We’re asking friends, families, neighbours and local groups to help us knit cosy blankets for people in need which will be donated through Age UK Hertfordshire.

You can get involved by:
• Knitting 20cm x 20cm squares using Double Knit Wool and 4mm knitting needles
• Donating Double Knit wool or 4mm knitting needles
• Helping us stitch blankets together (6 squares wide × 8 long).
• Or even teaching someone to knit!

Want to join our mammoth mission? Send us a message or pop into our home and come and see us.
