But…last year agreed to do a run with me only if I entered a swim with him!!

A deal is a deal so here we are πŸ˜…

It was hard work breast stroking for a mile but I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Now for all the food πŸ˜‹

We are running our next fitness competition on Saturday 15th July 10am-1pm at our gym in Kensworth, Dunstable

This is a friendly event, with no complex movements and is suitable for EVERYONE!

We would like to encourage as many of our members (and non members) to take part in this. It’s something to work towards and will be a fun social event too πŸ˜ƒ

It is a pairs competition (can be mixed or same s*x) but if you don’t have a partner in mind, let us know and we will pair you with someone who is of similar ability πŸ’ͺ

Grip strength πŸ’ͺ🏻

If you are new to calisthenics but don’t know where to start….my advice would be the grip!!

The hands, wrists and forearms are largely overlooked as most tend to jump straight in on the bigger moves like pull ups and dips.

Don’t get me wrong you’ll need to work on these and don’t be afraid to use the bands to assist πŸ‘πŸ»

But make sure you are spending some time on your grip…it’s the point at which most exercises start and finish!!!

You can’t afford to skip it…your progress depends on it πŸ“ˆ

A good place to start is to hang from a bar.

Start with short holds and slowly build them up over time. Once you have mastered these start developing single arm hangs in the same way πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
