The wall Cadillac - further core strength and muscle challenge here using the leg springs whilst providing opportunity for improving hip stability and mobility. Often reduces lower back pain be regaining balance once more between tight/weak and strong muscle groups in the legs and hips etc.

Kneeling hands in ropes on the reformer creates greater challenge for core muscles, and muscles used in stabilising hips ( e.g.gluts) and shoulders (e.g. mid & lower traps) whilst toning and strengthening arms. Many muscles are being strengthened or lengthened here - just a quick example of how Pilates balances the body effectively on many levels such as reducing joint pain and stiffness, improving flexibility and agility and endurance

Achey back or shoulders.? Try these 2 gentle exercises. Can put a cushion under tummy to help with getting the low long line in first exercise. Particularly if you have a large bust! give it a try - any probs or questions then do post! X

If you feel a bit skewiff, sit at a desk or drive for many hours a day then these exercises for strengthening and aligning your back will help. Remember to feel that your low tummy muscles are being pulled up away from the floor towards the spine, to support the back. Like a long shelf that sags in the middle, you need something to hold it up underneath- so in these back strengthening exercises it's your tummy you want to work!

Many things afoot this September launching new do-be-dodance class on Mondays, Fridays and Sunday mornings. Also new Yoga class on Monday Eve's 8.30-9.45pm
And most important of all Macmillan coffee morning on Friday 26th September from 11.30-2.30 at Peter Edwards hall, Church Road Slip End, LU14BJ
We will be eating cake drinking tea and chatting away and I will be giving a little taster of some of the moves that will feature in do-be-dodance! All fun and for such an amazing worthwhile cause.
