Our deepest thoughts are with Bailey's family and friends.

It is with the deepest regret and the heaviest of hearts we have to confirm that the 19 year old who was killed in the hit and run was Bailey. The most loveable, caring, trustworthy, happy, smiley, beautiful young man we have ever had the honour of working with. A true gentlemen and friend.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time and I would ask everyone to bare with us a little bit as there’s is a rather large hole to fill both personally and professionally for each and every one of our team.

Some very sad news to share following the collision near Pateley Bridge this morning ⬇️

We’re very sad to share that a 19-year-old local man has died following a collision on the B6265 at Lupton Bank, between Glasshouses and Pateley Bridge, in the early hours of this morning.

The incident happened sometime between 1.44am and 3.10am.

The man, who we believe was walking from Pateley Bridge towards Glasshouses, was sadly found deceased at the scene. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.

We are now appealing for anyone who was driving in the area at the time to come forward and support our investigation.

If you have any dash-cam footage from the area or time frame, or if you live or work nearby and have CCTV or doorbell camera footage showing any vehicles passing through between 1.44am and 3.10am, please get in touch.

Please email our Major Collision Investigation team at mcit@northyorkshire.police.uk or call North Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting reference number 12250133851 if you have any information.

The road was closed to allow emergency services to respond at the scene, but it has now reopened.
