Continued Care Limited

Continued Care Limited Rated CQC Outstanding, family-run Continued Care offers home care services across Harrogate and Ripon

At the heart of everything we do is a focus on providing high-quality, respectful care to all the people we work with. We offer independence, dignity, respect, peace of mind, and rights to choice. We provide tailored home care in the Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon and Settle areas to people who have experienced a sudden illness, returned from hospital or are simply in need of extra support. Our services range from help with cleaning, shopping and personal assistance, right through to 24-hour care. We help people with complex health needs to move back to their own homes following a stay in a nursing home or hospital. We are highly experienced in managing the moving process and can provide up to 24-hour support to bring people home. We work closely with people and their families to create a care plan that meets their individual needs and respects their requirements. We provide services on behalf of the NHS, as well as to private clients. We have also been the sole provider for the last five years of home care in Harrogate, Knaresborough and the surrounding district on behalf of North Yorkshire County Council. The wellbeing of our staff is also a big focus for us, and we provide regular training, supervision and appraisals, as well as clear career development paths. Our work meets and exceeds the standards set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and we are rated as Outstanding; please download a full copy of our latest independent inspection report at www.cqc.org.uk. We are seen as leaders in our field and have won numerous awards for our work in the care sector as well as for our approach to staff development and training.

🙌 Continued Care has a long history of success at the prestigious Great British Care Awards, and this year is no exception!

Six members of staff were shortlisted for an award at the regional finals in Leeds on Friday, November 7th – with two winners and one highly commended. ⭐️

💫 Allgar Ziyanera was named the Home Care Worker while Amanda Ramsay won the Home Care Registered Manager Award. Maria Gibson was highly commended in the Home Care Co-Ordinator category. Allgar and Amanda will now go forward to the national finals in February next year.

Our other amazing finalists were Eugenia Tay for the Home Care Newcomer Award, Sue Crawford and Matt Betts in the Home Care Team category, and Nichola Noble for the Unpaid Carer Award. 💙

💫 Vote for our Carer of the Month!
We are delighted to share this month’s nominations for Carer of the Month for November 2025. Each of these carers has shown outstanding dedication, compassion and teamwork, and now we need your help! Please choose who you feel deserves the recognition.

⭐️ Kristina C – Compassion and Dedication Over the Years
Kristina has been recognised for her years of commitment and kindness in caring for Eddie. Eddie’s family, who live as far away as New Zealand, shared heartfelt thanks for the comfort and reassurance Kristina’s care gave them, describing how she treated Eddie “like a grandfather” and left a lasting impression on their family. Her warmth, professionalism, and dedication have shone through every visit.

⭐️ Mel W. – Kindness and Team Spirit
Mel has been nominated for her thoughtfulness and support towards her colleagues.
Despite not working evenings, she offered to pick up and drive her teammate, to her first call, going out of her way to help. Mel’s kindness, reliability, and growing confidence have made her a valued and much-loved member of the team.

⭐️ Kristina B – Outstanding Support and Teamwork
Kristina B went above and beyond when her colleagues faced a particularly difficult rota and were running behind on calls. When contacted on-call, she immediately offered to come out and complete their single calls to support them. Her willingness to step in at short notice, combined with her empathy and strong team spirit, makes her a true role model.

⭐️ Lynda S – Dedication in a Live-In Role
Lynda has been nominated for her exceptional commitment and professionalism in a demanding live-in placement. The client is very particular about how things are done, but Lynda has handled every task with patience, skill, and compassion. The client’s family is thrilled with the care Lynda provides, describing her as “truly amazing.”
Even Lynda herself said, “This has been one of the most rewarding clients I’ve supported since starting care in 1983 — it’s tested my skills, but I’m proud of how well we’ve built such a strong rapport.” Her resilience and positive attitude are inspiring.

Please email monica.tavares@continued-care.co.uk or call the office with the name of the carer you feel deserves to be Carer of the Month for November 2025.

Votes will be counted by Friday, the 28th of November 2025, and the winner will be announced shortly after.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to send in nominations and recognise the incredible work our carers do every day.

Wishing Christine Middleton a very happy retirement ✨

Chris is exceptionally kind and person-centred and has been an invaluable part of our care team, always going over and above and building close relationships with the people she cares for.

Chris has worked in care for a long time and joined Continued Care in 2022. She immediately showed what an outstanding carer she is by winning that year's Dignity in Care Award at the Great British Care Awards for Yorkshire & The Humber (pictured here). She went on to the national finals the following year, where she was a runner-up.

She will be missed by everyone and leaves with our warmest wishes for a long and happy retirement.
