Last month, we hosted a patient event at Cedar Court Hotel in Harrogate, with Consultant Gynaecologist and Minimal Access Surgeon, Miss Dorota Hardy, where attendees had the opportunity to learn all about the physical, emotional and hormonal changes associated with menopause.

We are thrilled to announce that Sally Barber, Patient Administrator at the Duchy Hospital, has won October's Star of the Month!

Sally was nominated by several of her colleagues for always going above and beyond to help patients in the Outpatients Department. She is also very supportive to all staff within the department, always has a friendly manner and is a pleasure to work with. Sally always has a positive mental attitude, is always smiling, makes patients laugh and is very helpful to all colleagues.

Last week, we had a pumpkin decorating contest, a department decorating showdown, and a Halloween raffle - all in support of Martin House Children's Hospice. Thank you to everyone who joined in!

Meet Mr Adam Bennett, a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon working at the Duchy Hospital.

Mr Bennett's clinical interests include:
- Hallux rigidus (big toe arthritis)
- Hallux valgus (bunions)
- Lesser toe deformities
- Arthritis
- Ligament injuries
- Achilles tendon
- Cartilage injury
- Complex deformity correction

We’re pleased to share that our new mobile CT scanner was on site yesterday, offering patients access to advanced diagnostic imaging in a convenient setting.
This is part of a new service we are proud to be launching to support faster access to high quality care.

If you’ve been advised to have a CT scan, speak to your GP or consultant about whether a referral to our service is appropriate. All referrals must be clinically indicated and made by a registered healthcare professional.

This new service reflects our commitment to safe, patient-focused care and faster access to high quality diagnostics.
