An accurate representation of my yoga practice with 3 children. I used to set out my mat, play my favourite playlist, light some incense and practice leisurely. Now I’m lucky if it’s 10 minutes on the rug whilst the kids climb on me and demand something. Your practice doesn’t have to be perfect, you just have to show up and do what you can ☺️

Last week at Relax and Read, I talked about the Amygdala. It is also known as the smoke alarm or alarm system and is part of the brain that is constantly scanning for potential threats. I am certainly no neuroscientist, but we are covering some of the basics of the brain and how stress and anxiety affect it. Good morning. At Relax and Read yesterday we talked about how our subconscious is always taking in information (without you knowing it). So we need to be careful what we say to ourselves but also we need to be aware of what we are subjecting our minds to. Good news doesn’t sell so the 24 hour news we are bombarded with is generally negative and made to cause fear and outrage, it is also causing an increase of stress and anxiety. Replace it with something good. This is a great app but there are many more social media accounts dedicated to giving you good news. Feed your brain kindness and positivity, it will give back in kind ☺️
