Audiology has played a significant role in my life since 2009 when my first daughter was born and diagnosed as deaf. She received hearing aids and had grommets fitted when she was 18 months old. For five and a half years, we spent a lot of time in and out of audiology appointments. Keeping small ears clean felt like an art, especially since appointments were hard to come by. Eventually, when I adv
ocated for my daughter to be tested without her hearing aids, the audiologists were surprised to find that she had normal hearing. They attributed this to the bad glue ear and the grommets, along with the time that had passed. Because of this experience and my understanding of the issues caused by earwax, all three of my daughters have the cleanest ears in Harrogate. Now that the NHS has stopped offering earwax removal and many GP practices have followed suit, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to help others. After completing training to meet the standards of the British Society of Audiology and obtaining Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accreditation in Ear Anatomy and Otoscopy, as well as Earwax Removal for Health Professionals—including techniques such as microsuction and irrigation—I launched Hear Clear Wax Removal Mobile and Clinic Services..
