Examples of employment tasks:

• Ensure that comprehensive, individualised care plans are in place and are regularly reviewed and evaluated in accordance with the NMC guidelines and company policy;
• Assist and to deal with emergencies and pre-planned treatment of patients;
• Manage own work load;
• Maintain ongoing assessment and review of all patients;
• Monitor patient’s progress;
• Administer drugs and medicines;
• Apply surgical dressings and give other forms of treatment;
• Plan duty rotas and organises and direct the work and training;

As a carer, you will be required to assist in the provision of care and work as part of a team to achieve required standards. To ensure that service users retain their dignity and individuality and to be involved in the general activities of the care centre/unit.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
As a Care Assistant you will assist with all aspects of Personal Care and promoting independence through the following (but not limited to):

Ensuring the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting service users when required. Tasks include washing, toileting, dressing, un******ng and all other aspects of daily living.

Assist service users in all aspects of their care needs (e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual). Provide attention when needed whilst ensuring service users retain their comfort and dignity.

Observe care planning needs for service users and complete written daily records as instructed in line with the Company’s policies and procedures

Ensure that the full privacy and dignity is maintained for the dying and the bereaved, in line with the Company’s policies and procedures.

Assist service users who need help during meal times (be aware of swallowing difficulties, dietary requirements etc.) Assist with serving of food/drinks as requested/required. Wash up as requested/required.

Communications & Working Relationships:

Should be able to communicate and work effectively with colleagues and Line Managers.

Decision Making Authority & Responsibility:

Is able to consider alternatives and assesses their impact and potential problems. Can implement decisions and evaluate results.

Mulberry Manor Care Home in Swinton, Mexborough are looking to hire a Bank Domestic Assistant (0 hour contract) to work at their elderly residential care home.

Principle Accountabilities:

1. Cleaning

Daily cleaning

• Empty waste bins and wipe out
• Vacuum throughout
• Shake out cushions
• Clean dining rooms/lounges/lavatories
• Clean taps and sinks
• Clean soap dishes
• Clean all floorings (as necessary)

Weekly Cleaning

• Polish all mirrors
• Clean all pipe work in lavatories
• Dust handrails and radiators
• Move mobile furniture (including beds and chairs) for cleaning
• Vacuum and dust beneath bed
• Wash out metal wastepaper bins
• Dust and polish furniture and windowsills
• Wash lino floors
• Shampoo carpets as requested by the home Manager
• Restock toiletries, soaps, towels etc. as and when required.

WEEK ONE Dust light bulbs and fittings
WEEK TWO Dust curtain rails
WEEK THREE Dust pictures
WEEK FOUR Remove and clean seat cushions from chairs and vacuum the chairs.

2. Training & Development

• Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site as and when required.
• Maintain professional knowledge and competence.

3. Health & Safety

• Adhere to the care centre’s disposal of waste policy.
• Report immediately to the Home Manager or the person in charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a service user, colleague, self or another.
• Understand and ensure the implementation of the care centre’s Health & Safety policy and emergency fire procedures.
• Report to the Home Manager or the Handyperson any faulty appliances, damaged furniture/equipment of any potential hazards.
• Promote safe working practice within the care centre.

4. General

• Promote and ensure the good reputation of the care centre.
• Ensure that all information of a confidential nature, gained in the course of work is not divulged to third parties.
• Notify the Home Manager or the person in charge as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty and also on your return to work from all periods of absence.

Principle Accountabilities:

1. Laundry

• Sort washing into relevant groups where applicable and process it through the washer, drier and iron. Keep clean and dirty Linen separate within the laundry.
• The following priorities apply: Bedding, towels, service users’ personal laundry, serviettes, tea towels.
• Return the care centre’s washing to the Linen cupboard and the kitchen.
• Perform minor repairs to service users’ clothing.
• Any clothes that are not marked should be named and placed in the appropriate boxes after they have been laundered.

2. Communication

• Participate in Staff and service user meetings as required.

The Glen Care Home in Morecambe is looking to hire a Clinical Lead to work at their beautiful nursing home on a fulltime basis.

The shifts are 0730-1930 but the clinical lead is expected to be flexible in these times to meet the needs of the service.

We are looking for a highly motivated Registered Nurse, who shares our vision to deliver outstanding care for people to live well in our care home. You will need to be compassionate, caring and a good team player. You will lead the nurses and carers, fully supported by the Deputy and Registered Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
· To support the Deputy and Registered Manager and other senior team members in all aspects of the home’s management and service provision.
· Deliver clinical excellence through direct nursing care as part of a professional well-established team.
· Prioritise workload, delegate workload to Senior Care Assistants
· Giving and receiving reports at the beginning and end of a shift.
· Promote a positive working atmosphere. Assist the Deputy and Registered Manager` to implement any changes that need to be made to the working routine/environment.
· Be familiar with the fundamental standards required from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and adhere to the principles.
· Champion Independence and personal choice - develop, review - up date care plans to meet our clients changing physical, social and psychological needs
· Build the positive reputation of the home and unit - liaise professionally with visitors, including family and friends
· Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines - proactively manage risks, identify any issues, investigate and resolve as required. Ensure that all relevant home Policies and Procedures and Codes of Practice are adhered to.
· Assist the Deputy and Registered Manager in all aspects of medicine management - ensuring medicines are appropriately received, stored and administered to clients
· Conduct care audits - monitor standards of care and take corrective action where appropriate
· To undertake all mandatory training as required by the CQC, NMC, CCG and home policies. Participate in appropriate in-service training as and when required.
· Maintain the strict confidentiality of all information acquired especially with regard to residents, visitors and staff.
· To undertake an appraisal review annually and through self-development, continuously update and improve knowledge and competencies.
· To assist in developing and providing a caring, supportive and dignified atmosphere for residents and their families/friends.
· Assist to cover a 24 hour nursing rota when the need arises and for the professional development in the total care of residents requiring end of life care and the care of residents with multiple needs.
Pro-actively manage staff and complete regular supervisions of your Nurses and CHAPs and develop a down line supervision process for the carers.
Undertake and participate in the homes On-Call rota deputising for the Deputy manager and Registered manager in their absence.

This role would be ideally 75% clinical and 25% admin for audits and rotas. The clinical lead will take ownership of the unit.
