🌹 Remembrance Day 🌹

As the nation pauses at 11am, we too will stop to remember the brave men and women who gave so much so that we can live the lives we do today.

Across our homes, residents and teams have come together to share stories, create beautiful tributes, and reflect on the true meaning of remembrance.

We’ll now take a moment of silence, to remember, to give thanks, and to honour their courage and sacrifice.

Something very special has been happening at Sowerby House Care Home!

Residents, relatives and the team have been working together to create this incredible field of crocheted poppies for Remembrance. ❤️🖤

Each poppy has been crocheted with care, love and reflection.

A huge thank you to residents Bob, Kath and Jean who spent time carefully placing every poppy onto a stick, and to the incredible Activities Co-ordinator Christina who brought everyone together to make this possible.

The local church will be joining the home for a Remembrance service, offering a moment of community, gratitude and remembrance.

November is National Family Caregivers Month 🩷💚

This month, we recognise and celebrate all the incredible family members who continue to care in so many ways, after their loved one comes into our care.

Their care doesn’t stop at our doors, it becomes part of our home.

Families are an incredibly important part of our community.

They join in activities, pop the kettle on, lend a hand at our summer fairs and Christmas parties, they share laughter and friendship with residents and our teams! 🥰
