his week, residents at Willowcroft Care Home continued our Valentine’s Day arts and crafts sessions by creating love heart plaques for their rooms. Everyone had a fantastic time personalising their designs, choosing colours, messages and finishing touches ready to be proudly displayed around the home.

Arts and crafts activities like this offer so many benefits for older people. They support fine motor skills, encourage self-expression and creativity, and can be wonderfully calming. Just as importantly, these sessions create opportunities for conversation, shared memories and a real sense of achievement, helping residents feel engaged, connected and proud of what they’ve made. 💜

This week, residents at Willowcroft Care Home in Sutton-in-Ashfield got their creative hats on as they made their own felt bears, each one finished with a scarf and a personalised birth certificate. Everyone took time choosing colours and adding their own touches, making each bear truly unique.
