It's International Women's Day πŸ’ͺ🏻

A day to celebrate the achievements of women, recognise the progress made, and highlight the importance of continuing to push for equality.

Today, we're celebrating the amazing women on our team by sharing some of their baby photos - because every confident, talented and inspiring woman, once started as a little girl with big dreams! We wanted to show that little girls can grow up to be whoever they want to be and do whatever they want to do!

Behind every photo is a brilliant woman who plays an important role in our team - and we're proud to celebrate them on International Women's Day!

πŸ¦”βœ¨ Patient Visit Spotlight – Nala βœ¨πŸ¦”

On Tuesday we had the pleasure of welcoming Nala, a 4-year-old African Pygmy hedgehog, from the fantastic Pets4People into the practice! πŸ’•

Nala may be tiny, but she definitely has a big personality β€” and a very sassy attitude to match! πŸ˜† She kept us on our toes and made it very clear she was in charge during her visit.

Despite her diva moments, she did brilliantly for her check-up and reminded us just how special and unique these little exotic patients are πŸ¦”βœ¨

Thank you to Nala’s owner for bringing her in β€” we absolutely love meeting all creatures great and small (especially the sassy ones!). πŸ’š

I don't want to jinx it, but it seems like spring might be here!? 🫣🀞🏻 What better way to celebrate, than a trip to the beach. Recently, we've had fun building beach dens, beach combing and even had time to do a beach clean! Let's hope the sun is here to stay β˜€οΈ

🐍 🦎 πŸ‡ Who are Pets4People!? πŸ¦” πŸ• 🐌

We've welcomed lots of new followers across all of our social media platforms recently, so we thought it was a great time to reintroduce ourselves and share a little more about what we do!

We are Pets4People - an animal-assisted activity, support and education service based in Hartlepool, working across the North East. We provide supportive and therapeutic interventions for people of all ages, particularly those with social, emotional and mental health needs and/or disabilities.

Our team is made up of knowledgeable and experienced Animal Therapeutic Support Workers and dedicated volunteers. Together, we bring a wealth of qualifications and experience in youth work, social work, teaching, animal care and zoology (our managing director - Sami - even won Youth Worker of the year last year!!).

We're home to a wide variety of animals - from mammals to reptiles and invertebrates - so there truly is something for everyone!

🐾 What we do 🐾

We offer a wide range of opportunities including 1:1 sessions, group work, workshops, community groups, home education (including AQA accreditation), school education sessions, HAF provision and more.

Activities can include enrichment making, feeding and husbandry, handling, health checks and weighing, animal education, STEM and environmental learning, wildlife and forestry activities, crafts, emotional regulation work, and physical rehabilitation such as dog walking and grooming.

Sessions are flexible and tailored to each client, and can take place in your home, school, workplace or community setting - or you can join us at one of our dedicated Pets4People locations or outdoor learning spaces.

✨ The benefits ✨

Spending time with animals and in nature has been shown to support emotional wellbeing, build confidence and communication skills, and encourage engagement in learning. Our animal-assisted therapy and outdoor education sessions create meaningful, hands-on experiences that nurture connection, regulation and personal growth in a safe and supportive environment.

If you'd like to enquire or find out more about our services, please send us a message - we'd love to hear from you! And as always if you've joined us at a session before, we'd love to hear your feedback - why not leave a review on our page? πŸ™πŸ» ✨
