Why I Do What I Do , As a Funeral Director
I often get asked why I chose this profession. The truth is simple:
I do what I do because every family deserves dignity, compassion, and guidance on the hardest day of their lives.
Being a funeral director isn’t just a job.
It’s a responsibility.
A privilege.
A calling.
I meet people at their most vulnerable moments.
When the world feels heavy.
When nothing makes sense.
When grief takes over.
And my role is to make that weight a little lighter.
To bring calm where there’s chaos.
To provide answers where there is confusion.
To create meaningful goodbyes filled with love, respect, and understanding.
I do this job because I believe that every life deserves to be honoured, no matter how long or short, no matter the circumstances.
I do it because I care.
Because families need someone steady when everything feels unsteady.
Because the smallest details matter when saying the final farewell.
And above all
I do it because helping people through loss is the most meaningful work I could ever imagine.
This is why I do what I do.
With pride.
With respect.
With heart
