🍂 Autumn equinox, the moment in the year where day and night are of equal length. It’s a time to pause, reflect and gather for our onward journey into winter. Catch all the sunbeams you can as the days get shorter, to guard against the long nights.

Time to fine tune our diet, movement and rhythms for the shortening days… poached spiced pears (the smell of winter, according to my daughter), soups and warming tonics.
Air out the scarves, cardigans and warm socks (even if we do have to keep taking them off as it’s not yet quite *that* cold).

Ask yourself, what do I need right now?
(In my case, the answer is almost always, a walk, more time to sew and some acupuncture)

Book your families acupuncture appointments, for immunity and seasonal support.

does extremely important work for a group who are often forgotten in the larger menopause conversation - those of us in menopause after cancer.
We are left scared and marooned in what feels like a broken body after treatment, and when that body is suddenly thrown into menopause it adds insult to injury. Our options are limited, different to the norm, and information is scarce or, as in my case, missing entirely, during the preparation for treatment.

That’s where comes in. Her work is so important- she is bringing the conversation about menopause after cancer into the mainstream. Her generous heart and spirit absolutely saved me after my treatment; she offers good evidence based information, compassion, understanding and support. Thank you I owe you more than I can ever say 🥰

With the spring sunshine, Exam time is just around the corner at our house… did you know that treatment can really help your young person to manage the stresses and anxiety of revision and exams? Not to mention helping them to stay well through this important term and into the summer.

I absolutely love to support teens with acupuncture, it’s so gentle but profoundly relaxing and regulating for them.

Give the clinic a call or book on line.

It can all start to feel a bit Christmas Crazy at this time of year, which can go against the natural seasonal urge to slow down and hibernate 🐻… remember humans are still mammals, a part of the natural world. If it all feels a bit much, that’s probably because it is. There is lots to love about this time of year 🎄 but it is still a lot!

Give yourself space and micro rests throughout your day…
Take a nice deep breath, wiggle your fingers and toes & stay present to what’s around you;
Savour the steam from your coffee before you drink;
sit in the car a moment longer and feel the seat beneath you;
take a 10 minute rest after lunch.
Everything will still get done and you will feel better for having had a moment for yourself.

Don’t forget to book your sanity saving Acupuncture appointment in Haslemere for the new year, start as you mean to go on! Get it in the diary now and you know you have that to look forward to ☺️

I can’t wait to see you on the other side!

Warmly, Keeley

2 wonderful groups came to learn about facial Gua Sha this weekend (I only remembered to take photos of one though!).
We drank tea and chatted, talked Chinese medicine theory and treated our faces together. There may have been some chocolate involved too.
What a lovely way to spend a Saturday ☺️
Keep your eyes peeled for more workshops in Haslemere in the new year. Drop me a line if you’d like to be on the mailing list.
And remember along with your Gua Sha,
“if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.”

This weekend I was honoured to complete my training in the wonderful art and practice of Shōnishin with .ev
This gentle technique is used to treat babies and children of all ages; it supports correct development of the meridian system, which in turn supports their overall health as they grow.
We learnt how to help babies who may be struggling to settle, sleep or feed, and older children, in whom early issues may not have been detected, leading to all sorts of symptoms, physical, emotional and developmental.
There are myriad uses for this powerful Japanese technique, another non needle method that I can’t wait to integrate into my practice.
Many thanks to Thomas Wernicke .ev , .hopa and the lovely colleagues I spent many days learning and laughing with.
This work continues to amaze and delight me!
