Climbing Calm CIC is a social enterprise using rock climbing as a therapeutic tool.

Many of you will know Georgina, who has supported so many people in our community over the years.

In 2024 her little boy Ffredi was diagnosed with Hirschsprung’s Disease, a rare condition affecting around 150 children born in the UK each year.

Georgina has now started Hirschsprung’s Disease UK, a charity that will support families at the point of diagnosis and help connect parents going through similar experiences.

To help get the charity off the ground, Hannah will be running the London Marathon on 26th April.

As part of Neurodiversity Celebration Week, we are hosting a supportive webinar for parents and carers, recognising the real challenges families face and sharing neurodiversity-affirming perspectives that can support children to build a positive sense of identity.

We will explore how neurodivergent differences are often misunderstood, how this can impact children’s self-esteem and wellbeing, and how parents can advocate for their child in ways that are both supportive and affirming.

The session is led by Dr Becky Quicke and Dr Ali Downes, Clinical Psychologists and parents of neurodivergent children, with input from Manchester Parent Carer Forum, and supported by Manchester City Council.

Booking for our Climbing Calm sessions at Summit Up Climbing in Oldham has opened to those on our waiting list!

Emails have been sent with more information and we commence climbing on 4th November. We're excited to start sessions at our new venue on Tuesday evenings

We're excited that Climbing Calm sessions will be returning after a short break 🙌

Climbing will return in the first week of November, on Tuesday evenings and more details about the location and information will be emailed on Friday to those on our email list and those who've previously attending climbing before.

Our Climbing Calm sessions begin on Thursday at Parthian Climbing Centre and there are a few places remaining on our sessions!

Our sessions for children are fully booked but there places available on our sessions for adults taking place at 6.30pm.

Booking has opened for a new term of Climbing Calm sessions starting on 24th April and finishing at May half term.

Sessions for those aged 7-12, 12-18 and 18-30 years are open, with sessions taking place on Thursday evenings.

We are coming to the end of a fantastic block of sessions for Climbing Calm and are taking an Easter break.

Booking for the next term of climbing will open in the next week and will open to the waiting list.

If you have attended Climbing Calm in the last year, we have emailed you as we measure the impact of our sessions for those who join us.

We're so excited to get back to Climbing Calm sessions tomorrow evening!

Our sessions for those aged 7-12 and 12-18 are fully booked, however there are a few places remaining at our sessions for adults and young people aged 18-30 years.

If you’d like to use rock climbing to develop new tools to cope with life’s challenges and manage your mental health, you can join our Climbing Calm sessions at Parthian Climbing Centre.

Sessions are open to adults aged 18-30 years who have additional needs, neurodiverse adults and adults with mental health needs and are delivered by specially trained Climbing instructors and Caspian, Specialist Climbing Instructor and Speech and Language Therapist.

The programme is delivered by a specialist team of rock climbing instructors and you don't need any experience of climbing to join us.

A huge Congratulations to Climbing Calm’s Managing Director and Co-founder, Hannah, today, who has been awarded an MBE on the Kings New Years Honours list for Services to Children and Young People and their Families.

In addition to creating Climbing Calm, Hannah has also co-founded the Charity, Twinkleboost and the Social Enterprise, The Therapeutic Forest CIC.

Hannah says; “I am incredibly honoured to receive this MBE. Thank you to everyone at Climbing Calm, especially Georgina, who I feel so fortunate to work alongside, and Caspian whose kindness and connection with our families brings so much to every project we deliver".

I know you will join us in celebrating Hannah, as a team we are so proud of her and this honour.
