National Lottery Community Fund...

A big thank you to the National Lottery Community Fund, for granting us the money to create a brand-new reception area and first aid room at The Hub.
Thomas was one of the first people to have the idea and spot the need for the first aid room, so we were delighted that he was able to cut the ribbon today.
Thomas said, "The idea came to me that if anyone feels ill, they will have somewhere to go that is quiet and more private."

This new space is not only looking great, but we know it will have a positive impact on everyone using it and we had great fun celebrating it’s opening this afternoon!

Volunteering at St Michael’s Hospice!

Our members have been continuing their volunteering and sorting clothes at St Michael's Hospice Distribution Centre, before they head out to the charity shops.
For some, this links directly to their Better Life Goals of working in a charity shop — and it’s been wonderful to see them gaining confidence, learning new skills for work, and understanding workplace policies and procedures along the way. They’re really enjoying being part of the team!
A big thank you to the Hospice, and to Sarah, for supporting our members so thoughtfully — including creating symbol and picture resources to help everyone succeed 😀

🥞 On your marks… get set… FLIP! 🥞

Our Pancake Race was flipping fantastic! Each year we think it can’t get any batter….. 😉 but this year topped them all.

With beautiful weather (thanks, Kevin!), an amazing turnout of racers, brilliant planning, and plenty of enthusiastic cheerleaders, it was a day to remember.

Louise's team took the win and the delicious drinks afterwards were the perfect finishing touch.

Here’s to doing it all again next year!

Site Update!

The team at Friary Gardeners have been busy getting everything ready for this year’s plant sale season 🌸

From building a new kindling display and planting seeds, to pruning, clearing, jet washing and continuing our project creating bug hotels and bird boxes for a local organisation — everyone has played their part.

A huge thank you to our amazing members for all your hard work and dedication 💚

Our annual Pancake Race is fast approaching and everyone from the Co-op and DBS is excited to join in the competition.

This year our members have taken it very seriously and have been checking daily weather forecasts, planning the route and visiting the site to complete a risk assessment.

This is one of our longest standing traditions and we can't wait!!

Stay tuned to see which team won, and if our resident weatherman, Kevin, gives us the go ahead 😀

Isabelle enjoyed celebrating her Birthday with great company and a little healthy competition. This also helped her to work on one of her goals - to spend time with friends.

Ella has been working towards one of her goals — to independently choose and order a drink. She recently achieved this and was thrilled with her choice… who doesn’t love a hot chocolate on a cold day?!

New Year, New Goals

At Kimberley's annual review, she chose to set herself a fantastic goal for 2026 — to help others learn how to use a pyrography pen and develop new skills.

Pyrography is something that Kimberley loves, and this year she’s excited to share her passion while utilising her caring nature to mentor and support others to discover the joy of this creative skill.

A brilliant way to combine care, community and creativity.

During our sessions at Bexhill Men's Shed, we have been celebrating what’s possible when the right tools and support come together...

Using his elbow switch to control the drill, and with his support worker helping to position it, Greg actively created something really special — a handmade wooden wine rack for his mum.

Great job Greg and thank you to Men’s Shed 😀
