We have free bookings this week:
Tuesday 4th Nov 2.30-3.30pm, 3.30-4.30pm
Wednesday 5th Nov 9.30-3.30pm
Thursday 6th Nov 9.30am-3.30pm
Friday 7th Nov - DROP IN 10-1pm,
bookings 1-4pm.
Only £12 per hour for 4 children and 4 parent/carers for exclusive use. Use of sensory room and soft playroom and free play rooms.
FREE WIFI and hot refreshments available.

Play Scheme Sessional Worker

Sensory Soft Play is a Hastings based small charity helping families locally of children with SEN providing respite sessions. We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated practitioner for an immediate start. We are particularly interested in people wanting to grow with the Charity. We offer flexible working hours on a zero-hour basis. Pay is £13 per hour.

Key duties include:

Demonstrate strong knowledge of early learning and EYFS.
Plan play sessions and care taking account of the needs of all children.
Make accurate and productive use of assessments
Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and provide a safe learning environment.
Fulfil wider professional responsibilities.
Planning and implementing actvities for children.
Preparing, tidying and clearing away after every session.
The successful candidate ideally will hold a full and relevant Level 2 qualification (or working towards) in early years and childcare, and to be able to perform as an effective Key Person and team member.

We will support you with your continued professional development to ensure you are able to achieve your full potential.

We are committed to safeguarding children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS is required for this

Knowledge:

Understanding and knowledge of meeting the complex needs of SEN.
Experience of working with SEN children/YP (high need)
Understanding the importance of confidentiality and professional boundaries
Understanding and commitment to EO and diversity in practice and ability to apply this to practice.
Understanding of child protection, safe guarding and health and safety processes.
Experience:

Ability to plan and implement weekly activities with the children
Ability to work in partnership with the families and parent/carers
Skills:

First aid trained
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to work on own initiative and part of a small team
Good interpersonal skills
Good team player
Personal qualities:

Able to communicate appropriately and effectively with service users and colleagues.
Creative and enthusiastic
Motivated and able to work under pressure
Job Types: Zero hours, Part-time

We raised £300 which is amazing. Big shout to all my staff especially Suzanne Horgan who worked her socks off for me and a big shout out to Amanda Stone Brizey Oh who helped decorate the garden and construct our incredible Harry Potter car ! And of course Jamie and John too!
