The Mulberry Community Mulberry House & Southdowns , provide care and support to adults of all ages Both located next door to each other.

The Mulberry Community is a care and nursing provider specialising in the support and care of people with brain injury and neuro-degenerative diseases. Our team is dedicated to offering great care and support to adults of all ages.We have 2 sister homes , Mulberry House & Southdowns . We offer care and support for:
• Adults of all ages
• Long-term or respite care
• Challenging and complex needs, such as mental illness and LD
• Neurological illness and decline, including Huntingdon’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, MS, ABI, Stroke, and complex dementia. Our multi-disciplinary team has a deep understanding of how brain injury affects people, in particular the tolerance for everyday activities, and the impact of brain injury fatigue. It’s all about positive behavioural support for the individual. We identify the behaviours and establish triggers to be avoided, while also developing strategies around distraction. We are able to support people who have displayed behaviours so challenging that other services will not accept them, as they are considered too complex. Our positive outcomes include:
• Excellent record of discharging clients back to non-specialist services or to supported living
• Use of strategies that hugely reduce the person’s challenging behaviours

We have really been getting into the Christmas spirit at The Mulberry Community!
A trip last week to see a pantomime, Jack & the Beanstalk, and also a visit from the wonderful T with a great selection of our favourite Christmas tunes.
And in response to residents' requests, we had a screening of the 1961 film, King of Kings, which always used to be broadcast on Christmas Day.
We also enjoyed some mince pies and other festive treats!

Busy start to the Christmas week here Mulberry Community. Father David took a lovely Christmas Carol service with our residents today -Thank you Father David for your ongoing support. Also had an outing to Hastings town for last minute Christmas shopping. Today we had gingerbread house making, Advent box opening and lots of individual activites …..3 more sleeps!!🎅🏼🎅🏼

And this afternoon The Mulberry Community , the residents and staff tucked into a festive BBQ, consisting of burgers served with bacon & brie, chips and onion rings.
One resident absolutely loved the contents of the Christmas cracker, and enjoyed posing for photos!
And another resident very kindly wrapped an enormous package so that everyone could enjoy a game of " pass the parcel".
An absolutely wonderful atmosphere!
