At Nouvita Healthcare, kindness isn’t just an act, it’s a value that shapes every interaction, every decision, and every moment of care. Whether it’s taking the time to listen, supporting colleagues, or helping someone take their first steps towards recovery, kindness creates connection - and connection drives wellbeing.

Today is World Kindness Day, and we’re celebrating the small, meaningful moments that make a big difference in our hospitals, residential services, and communities.

Because when kindness leads the way, care feels more human, recovery feels more possible, and life feels that little bit brighter.

On today, World Kindness Day, of all days, take a moment to be kind to someone. One act of kindness could make the world of difference.

In honour of Remembrance Day, staff and residents came together to remember. Holding a two-minute silence at 11am was followed by tea and scones, with a very British theme, lots of poppy's and classic World War era music, including Vera Lynn’s ‘We’ll meet again’ with a sing-a-long.

Although reflecting on the sombre meaning of the day and events of the past, this was channelled into a celebration of life and being thankful for all we have, with residents enjoying a social time together and honouring this occasion.

Remembrance Day honours the courage and sacrifice of those who served and lost their lives in armed conflicts, reflecting on their legacy and our shared commitment to peace.

Staff from Howe Dell Manor and The Coach House have recently passed their Level 3 Lead Adult Care Apprenticeship – Ayodeji with a Merit, and Mary with a Distinction.

Ayo commented “I want to sincerely thank you for your support and for giving me the opportunity to grow and develop professionally. Thank you!”.

Throughout this apprenticeship, Ayo has shown hard work and determination to learn and expand his skill set. As part of his assessment, Ayo delivered a presentation on effective communication, extending the invite to his colleagues. During this presentation, Ayo’s passion for his role, and compassion towards service users really stood out.

While Mary commented “Thank you, Nouvita Healthcare, for your unwavering support and generosity. The double sponsorship you extended to me is a gesture I will never forget. You have made a meaningful difference in both my career and my family’s life.”

Her commitment and hard work throughout the programme have been outstanding. As a part of her learning, Mary delivered an insightful presentation on the Mental Capacity Act, to her tutor, colleagues and student nurses. Her result reflects her dedication, competence and compassion she brings to her role.

The Level 3 Lead Adult Care Apprenticeship is a program for experienced care workers to develop leadership skills for senior and supervisory roles in adult care settings. It focuses on providing guidance and support to other care workers, championing person-cantered care, and taking on delegated responsibility to improve the well-being of individuals receiving care and takes 12-24 months to complete.

This Apprenticeship is just one of the many career development opportunities available for Nouvita staff. Investing in our workforce, ensuring the best quality care is provided to our service users is paramount and we always support our staff with the right training.

November is Men’s Health Awareness Month. Too often, men feel pressure to “stay strong” or “get on with it” and as a result, many struggle in silence.

At Nouvita Healthcare, we see first-hand how powerful it can be when someone finds the courage to open up. Every conversation, no matter how small, has the potential to change, or even save, a life.

This month is about breaking the stigma. It’s about reminding men that seeking support isn’t a weakness - it’s a sign of strength. Whether it’s reaching out to a friend, a colleague, or a professional, taking that first step can make all the difference.

Within our services, we provide safe, supportive spaces for men to explore their mental health and begin their journey to recovery. And across our teams, we’re committed to fostering a workplace culture where everyone feels able to talk, listen, and support one another without judgement.

Let’s make it normal to talk about how we’re really doing.

Because mental health matters, for everyone.

Residents at Eltisley Manor enjoyed a visit from Teddy the pony.

Teddy is a therapy animal providing comfort for people with mental or physical disabilities and can help with anxiety and stress, improving mental wellbeing and bringing happiness and a smile to people.

He certainly did his job well, bringing lots of smiles from residents, spending time in the resident lounges plus a few bedside visits, where residents got to stroke Teddy and ask questions about how has is looked after.

This was the first therapy animal visit to Eltisley Manor, our nursing residential care home, but it certainly wont be the last! Enjoyed by all, therapy animals are a clear winner amongst our residents (and staff!).

Today is National Stress Awareness Day. At Nouvita Healthcare, we know that stress affects everyone - whether you’re supporting others, working on the frontline, or simply managing life’s daily pressures.

Stress is a natural response, but when it builds up, it can affect our mental health, relationships, and ability to thrive. That’s why days like today are so important. They remind us to pause, check in with ourselves, and take steps to protect our wellbeing.

At Nouvita, supporting mental health isn’t just what we do for the people in our care, it’s something we promote and prioritise for our teams, too. From open conversations and peer support to wellbeing initiatives and our Employee Assistance service, we’re committed to creating an environment where everyone feels heard, supported, and valued.

Take a moment today to breathe, talk, or reach out. Whether it’s a walk, a chat with a friend, or five minutes of stillness. Small steps can make a big difference.

Let’s use to remind ourselves and each other that mental health matters every day - and that asking for support is a sign of strength, not weakness.
