Our General Manager Pippa spends time with residents to exchange ideas, plan weekly activities, and explore exciting upcoming events together. These moments of collaboration strengthen our community and ensure everyone feels involved, valued, and inspired.

💙 Blue Monday at Portsdown View Care Home – Turning the “Bluest Day” Bright 💙

Blue Monday is often called the “saddest day of the year,” usually falling in January when the days feel longer, colder, and motivation can dip. But here at Portsdown View, we believe it’s the perfect opportunity to flip the script and focus on what really matters — wellbeing, connection, and kindness.

Rather than letting the blues take over, we use Blue (or Brew!) Monday as a chance to pause, check in with one another, and lift spirits across our home and community. Today our wonderful staff and residents were joined by the South Coast Ambulance crew for a joyful afternoon of group yoga, friendly chats, laughter, and of course some delicious refreshments and donuts 🍩.

Moments like these remind us that wellbeing isn’t just about big changes — it’s about coming together, sharing smiles, moving our bodies, and supporting each other every day.

At Portsdown View, part of Connaught Care Group, Blue Monday isn’t about feeling low — it’s about building each other up 💙.

Our residents recently enjoyed a thoughtfully arranged outing to Afternoon Tea at the iconic Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth.
The experience offered a welcome change of scenery,
Encouraging conversation, companionship, and gentle enjoyment.

Shared moments over tea and cake,
Combined with stunning coastal views,
Created a calm and dignified afternoon
That was warmly appreciated by all who attended.

Such outings play an important role
In supporting wellbeing, independence, and quality of life,
Providing meaningful experiences beyond the home
And memories to be quietly treasured.❤️🙌

We were delighted to welcome Alan Mak MP to our care home this afternoon for a wonderful afternoon tea with our residents and team ☕🍰

It was a pleasure showing him around, introducing our dedicated staff, and spending time chatting with our residents. There was a real buzz of excitement and smiles all around. A very special moment was when one of our residents kindly sang a song for Alan, which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone and made the afternoon even more memorable 🎶

Thank you, Alan, for taking the time to visit and for making our afternoon so special. It truly meant a lot to residents and staff alike 💙

What a pleasure it was having The Pitchpipers visit us at Portsdown View Care Home. They brought joy, warmth and lots of cheer last week.
