Dolphin Homes

Dolphin Homes Delivering first class quality care and support are at the foundation of everything we offer.

We were founded in 1988 with the aim of providing high quality accommodation, care, assistance and support for people within the South East of England and started out with a residential care home for the elderly. This week is a powerful reminder that employers have a legal responsibility under the Health and Safety at Work Act to identify risks and take action to prevent work-related stress and support good mental health in the workplace.

At Dolphin Homes, we’re committed to creating a safe, supportive environment for all our colleagues. Here’s how we’re doing it:

- Speak Up Guardians – confidential support for workplace concerns
- Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA) – trained colleagues ready to listen
- Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) – 24/7 support via BUPA
- Compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act and Working Minds campaign principles

For practical advice and ideas, visit: https://www.hse.gov.uk/stress/index.htm

Let’s keep the conversation going. Together, we can prevent stress at work and promote good mental health!

We just had to share this lovely message received about our amazing team at The Laurels!

“I would just like to say I have worked in the care sector for over 20yrs as I used to be a caregiver, I now work doing the massage treatments for many clients in many different homes and I would just like to say The laurels is by far the most welcoming and friendly place I have been, I can clearly see all residents at the laurels are very well looked after.

I’ve always noticed how the staff that look after them have great relationships with them focusing on the small details with great care and respect and attention to details.

The home itself is run so well it’s an absolute pleasure to see everyone working together as a team and seeing the smile on the residents faces from the time they spend having fun together.

I really enjoy coming to do the massage and I just wanted you to know it’s a pleasure to watch you all in what you do as I know some places just don’t do it as you all do! Well done to you all!"

Thank you so much for your kind words. We’re so proud of our wonderful team at The Laurels for the care, joy, and compassion they bring every single day 💙

Yesterday, our recruitment team joined The Petersfield School Careers Fair to talk about the different paths into care 🐬

At Dolphin Homes, we know there’s no single route into our sector some start in support work, others in training, HR, nursing, or management. What connects everyone is the passion for making a difference 💙

Thank you to The Petersfield School for having us, and to all the amazing students who came to chat with us about their future!

We’re so proud to share this special interview between Trudy, our PBS Practitioner, and Sheila, our Family Representative and parent within Dolphin Homes!

Together, they’ve collaborated to develop our Trauma-Informed Care Course. Combining professional expertise with lived experience to create something truly meaningful.

At Dolphin, we believe in learning with people, not just for them. Their insights show how compassion, understanding, and partnership can shape the way we deliver care every day.

Speak Up Week, Day 4

Trust is the foundation of everything we do. It’s what makes people feel safe to share their concerns, ideas, and experiences.

At Dolphin Homes, we build trust by:
👉 Listening to feedback from staff, families, and people we support
👉 Acting on that feedback in meaningful ways
👉 Creating open cultures where every voice matters

Trust grows stronger every time listening and action come together 🐬✨

We’re proud to share two wonderful external compliments for our White Hart service this week:

💙 Our Deputy Manager, Charlie, was praised for being a calming presence, knowing the client’s history so well, and being warm and welcoming during a visit.

💙 The White Hart team received recognition for creating an ‘excellent, tranquil, calm environment’ - a true credit to everyone on duty.

Well done Charlie and the whole White Hart team, your dedication makes a real difference every single day 🐬✨
