There is currently a national shortage of co-codamol 30/500 tablets, affecting supplies across Wales and the rest of the UK. Our healthcare teams have been advised on how to manage this so that patients continue to receive safe and appropriate pain relief.

To help us manage supply safely, we are asking patients to:
• Only request your medication when it is due – please do not order early or ask for extra supplies.
• Use up any tablets you already have at home before requesting more.
• Be aware that your prescriber may make changes to your prescription so that your treatment can continue safely.
• Check the instructions on your medication, as your dose or product may change.
• Let your healthcare team know if you have recently changed what you take for pain relief.

Stockpiling reduces availability for people who need treatment now. Thank you for helping us to use medicines responsibly during this disruption.

If you have concerns about your pain management or your prescription, please speak with your healthcare team.
