Finding the right supplement for growing children and adolescents.

The ingredient that makes all the difference in the Omega-3 fish oil

Fish is a natural source of the essential fatty acids that children and adolescents need for their cognitive development. Here’s our kids’ concept!

Hi everyone ❤️

You might have seen some recent UK press about the rising risk of strokes and heart disease, including coverage following a major report from the Stroke Association.

Here’s what the UK news is highlighting:

📊 Stroke rates could rise sharply — estimates suggest that, without effective action on health risk factors, the number of strokes in the UK could increase by almost 42 % by 2035, rising from about 280 a day now to 414 a day.

Yahoo News UK

🧠 High blood pressure is the biggest risk factor — this alone accounts for a large share of strokes, yet many people don’t even realise this.

Mynewsdesk

Something that really stood out to me is how much diet and nutritional balance influence these risks. What we eat affects things like:

• blood pressure
• inflammation in our arteries
• cholesterol quality (not just the number)
• risk of blood clots

❤️ A big part of this is your omega-6 to omega-3 balance. Most people get plenty of omega-6 from processed foods but too little EPA & DHA (omega-3 fats) found in oily fish.
This imbalance is linked to more inflammation and higher cardiovascular risk.

A simple omega balance blood test (sometimes called an Omega-3 Index) can give you insight into whether your levels are in a healthier range. It’s not diagnostic, but it’s a useful early indicator of risk for coronary heart disease and stroke, especially when paired with other measures like blood pressure and cholesterol.

The good news is: 👉 If levels are lower than ideal, diet and lifestyle changes can raise your omega 3 status and improve your overall profile within months.

I’m sharing this because it’s something actionable we all can check before serious problems develop, especially as we get older. 💙

If anyone wants more info on how the test works or what levels mean, I’d be glad to explain!

Here's a timely news item relevant to today (January 18, 2026):

Recent updates and ongoing discussions highlight the critical importance of omega-3 fatty acids for heart health, building on a major January 2026 publication in the New England Journal of Medicine about fish oil supplements dramatically reducing serious cardiovascular events (like heart attacks and strokes) in high-risk dialysis patients by 43%.

This reinforces broader recent findings, such as a January 2026 study showing higher blood levels of omega-3s linked to lower risk of atrial fibrillation (a common irregular heartbeat), supporting long-term heart and brain health without increasing risks when achieved through diet or supplements.

A striking global review from late 2025 (widely cited into 2026) reveals that 76% of people worldwide aren't getting enough EPA and DHA—the key omega-3s for these benefits underscoring why boosting intake could make a big difference.

Taking a source of EPA and DHA that is combined with a polyphenol chaperone is key to absorption and making that difference.

NHS data from 36,258 people is evaluated as part of the study led by the University of Surrey.

A recent global study highlighted in news reports (from December 2025) reveals that a staggering 76% of people worldwide are not getting enough omega-3 fatty acids, particularly EPA and DHA, which are crucial for heart health and overall well-being.

This deficiency is linked to higher risks of heart disease, cognitive decline, inflammation, and even vision issues. Experts emphasize that adequate omega-3 intake supports cardiovascular health, immune function, brain health (including reduced risk of depression and Alzheimer's), and more—benefits that span all life stages.

Boost your intake through fatty fish like salmon, or consider supplements if your diet falls short. Small changes can make a big difference for long-term health! 🐟❤️

A woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer has said weightlifting gave her the "best possible chance" of recovering.

Dawn Williams, 52, is now cancer-free and credits the sport with giving her confidence and strength to get through gruelling chemotherapy.

She has won four gold medals for weightlifting - and three of them were achieved after her cancer diagnosis.

Taking up the sport and continuing to train has "absolutely saved my life," Williams said, adding that it benefitted her both physically and mentally.

It’s National Eczema Awareness Week! A great time to share tips, stories, and support for anyone dealing with this challenging skin condition

Let’s focus on omega-3 fatty acids, specifically EPA and DHA and how they can help ease eczema symptoms. These two types of omega-3s, found mainly in marine sources, are powerful inflammation fighters and may improve skin hydration and barrier function.

What the science says:

A 2012 review found that fish oil supplements helped reduce itchiness and improve quality of life for people with eczema.

Another study showed that over 80% of participants saw a 50% reduction in eczema severity when omega-3s were combined with other nutrients like zinc and vitamin D.

Fascinatingly, children whose mothers took fish oil during pregnancy and breastfeeding were less likely to develop eczema later in life.

Best sources of Omega 3 EPA & DHA to help are found in:

Fatty fish like salmon, mackerel, sardines, anchovies, and herring

Fish oil supplements (They are not all created equal, so get one that works)

Algae-based omega-3 supplements (a great vegan option that still provides EPA and DHA)

If you’re wondering whether you might be low in omega-3s or your omega 3 supplement is working, feel free to comment or DM
We will be happy to help you explore how easy it is to check your levels and see if it’s something worth looking into further.
Let’s support each other this week and beyond
