Why?

Because, gazing forward and popping your tailbone back during your Paschimottanasana gives the whole back body a good stretch, from your calves to your hamstrings (back of the thighs) and your spine remains long and aligned ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

Maybe add some spice to your Paschimottanasana practice by using your yoga wheel as a helpful prop to elevate the legs ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

While squatting comes naturally to children and is used as a resting position in many countries, most adults in the First World have neglected primal movement patterns.. ..

So far out of the habit, in fact, that they find squatting extremely uncomfortable for their hips, feet and ankles.

Malasana Squat whilst balancing on the wheel is an effective way to counter the tightness you get from spending too much time sitting in chairs and a great way to find some focus ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

Weโ€™ve already received some incredible feedback from parents regarding yesterdayโ€™s Little Beez Easter ๐Ÿฃ Workshops with our resident kids yoga teacher ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

Gifting our kids with tools such as mindful movement and breath work to help manage emotions & anxiety is crucial for their overall well-being.

Liz guided our Little Beez through some meditation, movement and breath work throughout the day, encouraging our kids to becoming more self aware of not just their physical body but how they are breathing and how theyโ€™re internally feeling.

As backbends open the chest and upper body they stimulate our Heart chakra (Anahata) allowing us to open more fully in our lives; to our emotions, experiences and into the relationship with ourselves and others ๐Ÿค

Letโ€™s talk spinal mobility.. ..

The thoracic spine or (T Spine) is made for mobility โ€“ to flex, extend and rotate.

Since the thoracic spine should be highly mobile, there is also the ability to lose movement by staying in sedentary position, or a lack of movement, often caused by the typical posture at an office or working a job that forces you to be in constant spinal flexion.

The Yoga โญ•๏ธ Wheel is a fantastic tool to have in your arsenal of defense against back aches and pains.
