We need to be so careful not to stigmatise. This is DNA research, and any conclusions made about how this man was what he was must reflect the complexity of human development. There is enough hardship in neurodivergence without adding Hi**er.

Ground-breaking research has made some fascinating discoveries on the dictator, from his ancestry to possible neurological disorders.

What can you do today to calm your nerves? For me; a simple fox red dog on a fox red morning. Magic.

“Neoliberalism breeds psychological distress by working to obliterate solidarity, the very essence of humanity”

This quote from the article below helps with understanding how current beliefs about the power of the individual are destroying us. We, us humans, are social organisms and thrive in communities where each of us brings our individual strengths. Self respect and self esteem come from being a valued part of the whole. I don’t believe any of us are designed to be the “whole/perfect” and in striving for this we are systematically destroying ourselves (and each other). Imperfections are the essence and strength of humanity.

Join me to discuss this and find comfort and compassion from another, imperfect, human.

Research proves it. And I've lived it.

Going into the darker days always makes me wonder about what you fear the most? Darkness seems to bring out those thoughts that send us into a spin. What’s the thing that keeps you awake? Maybe bring that to therapy….? You would be most welcome. 🙏🏼

Symptoms of SAD
Symptoms of SAD can include:
* a persistent low mood
* a loss of pleasure or interest in normal everyday activities
* irritability
* feelings of despair, guilt and worthlessness
* feeling lethargic (lacking in energy) and sleepy during the day
* sleeping for longer than normal and finding it hard to get up in the morning
* craving carbohydrates and gaining weight
* difficulty concentrating
* decreased s*x drive
For some people, these symptoms can be severe and have a significant impact on their day-to-day activities.

Or….. natural seasonal slow down to allow us to recover and restore energy for the new growth next year? I find a re-frame of all of the above symptoms from pathology to a natural response to the end of the year, or even a life, can help us find meaning and acceptance, even on the darkest of days. A powerful message and one that comes from the very beginning of life…. magic!

Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that comes and goes in a seasonal pattern.SAD is sometimes known as "winter depression" because the symptoms are usually more apparent and more severe during the winter.Some people with SAD may have symptoms during the summer and feel better....

I am both surprised and not surprised to read this report. The young people I meet in my practice are often experiencing OCD. I see it as an extreme reaction of feeling unsafe, and my understanding and the focus of my work, is reestablish healthy relationships with family and friends. Usually this simple, “old fashioned“ approach is all that is needed, ie: a good old listening, validating, soothing supportive chat.

More 16-24 year olds in England say they have symptoms of obsessive compulsive disorder - BBC analysis finds.

Welcome to my Bumpstead Counselling page. I hope that we can connect, as I believe connection forms the basis of life. In a world of technological change where we are constantly invited to disconnect from each other, “let AI do the work whilst I do……… what? “ What are we all doing now we don’t have to even talk to each other let alone breathe the same air or actually touch? As a professional I see so many people lonely to their very souls, so anxious and depressed and lacking motivation. In private I see a world divided, fighting each other whilst destroying the very fabric of existence.
My plea…. and let’s shout it… just talk to each other, let us put down the phone, turn off the laptop and simply talk. If you find this hard, as so many of us do, maybe chat to me first … I hold out my hand to you my friend.

I notice how mental health is increasingly being recognised as central to wellbeing as a whole. I also fear that because of a lack of counselling services people seeking help can be drawn into non-therapeutic services posing as therapy. Whether this is AI generated, (so not a human, therefore no relationship) , or under qualified practitioners my concern is people end up feeling worse…. and potentially out of pocket.
If you feel you need to talk to someone please look to professional help. This can be found in an emergency with The Samaritans, https://www.samaritans.org/how-we-can-help/contact-samaritan/ or for a therapist on Counselling Directory, https://www.counselling-directory.org.uk/?msclkid=99208ad037ef108f33a3e22851997d21&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Find%20A%20Counsellor&utm_term=Counselling%20For%20Children&utm_content=Smart%20Campaign%20Managed%20AdGroup or the BACP website.
