😍2 sleeps to Christmas! 😍

Look at our Santa Paws patient... meet Romie! 😻
Romie visited us yesterday for castration by vet Suzanne. He was a pleasure to have in practice and settled in extremely well, taking the day in his stride.

We performed a pre-anaesthetic blood screen on Romie, which allows us to check for any underlying diseases or conditions that may affect or alter our anaesthetic protocols for the patient. Fortunately for Romie, his test results were all clear - this provided a peace of mind for Romie's owner as we proceeded with his procedure. 💞

Today vet Lucy and nurse Alex had a very festive farm visit, spending the morning with some calves! Can we all agree they look ready for Santa visiting?! Ho Ho Ho 🎅

10 Sleeps until Christmas- Toys and batteries🎁🔋🎅
We all look under the tree on Christmas morning to see if Santa has been to visit and left any gifts or toys!

👉Some toys can be dangerous to our pets if they are ingested with the risk of causing intestinal blockages.
👉Some toys may contain batteries, which are also harmful to pets due to the acid and chemicals within them.

🐾Be sure to supervise your pets around new toys and batteries to reduce the likelihood of ingestion. 🐾

'Walking in a Winter Wonderland...' 🎶

If your dog comes home from a winter walk with sore or itchy paws, you’re not alone!
❄️ Ice can be irritating on its own—especially for pets with sensitive paws or existing skin issues.
❄️ Plus, all that grit and road salt can make their little paws even more uncomfortable.

👉 Tip: If you’ve been walking on gritted paths, give your dog’s paws a quick rinse when you get home. It helps wash away any salt, prevent chemical burns and keeps irritation to a minimum.

Have you got your Christmas decorations up? Is your pet pulling them down?!

Christmas lights, baubles and tinsel are lovely to look at during the festive period however can cause harm to pets. Christmas lights carry the risk of an electric shock if chewed on and tree decorations can cause choking or internal blockages if ingested (potentially requiring surgery).

🎄We recommend closely supervising pets in the vicinity of decorations, this festive period to avoid any harm being caused. 🎄
