RIDONKULOUS Light Up The Town – FREE EVENT
Friday 20th March | 18:30–20:30

Get ready for a night that glows. Join Scottish Borders Council for Light Up The Town, a free, family-friendly event celebrating cycling, creativity, and community. The highlight of the evening is a LED Glow Ride, setting off from Wilton Lodge Park, with the meeting point and ride briefing at Elliot Bandstand.

Make your bike as lit up as possible using glowing lights of any kind—be bold, be bright! The coolest lighting design will win a prize. Riders will travel along the Active Travel Network to Wee Haugh, where you can expect to see eye-catching lighting installations along the way.

Once at Wee Haugh, enjoy an outdoor cinema, bike maintenance sessions, come-and-try e-bikes, smoothie bikes, LED light displays powered by bikes, and a range of local street food.

Bring your bike, bring your lights, and help light up the town—for free. Don't worry if you don't have a bike, helmet, or lights, a small number will be available to borrow.'

Don't fancy riding? Not a problem, as there's plenty of action going on at the Wee Haugh!

We got a lovely surprise this morning! Burnfoot Primary P1s are spreading the love around the community to those that have supported them this year. They very kindly brought us this lovely knitted heart. We will proudly display this in our Community Cafe.

Sharing on behalf of a community member 💛

A local lady lost her bus pass last Friday and got the loveliest surprise when two young, polite and friendly boys turned up at her door to personally return it.

She was extremely grateful and, as she doesn’t have social media or any way to thank them directly, asked that we share this on her behalf.

With so much negativity around these days, she really wanted to highlight a positive story, sharing that these boys are a credit to their parents and showing there’s still plenty of kindness in our community ✨
