“We empower our existence by insisting on our authenticity.” Terence McKenna

Terence was ahead of his time…at points, almost prophetic.

He spoke often about the dangers of dominator culture: authoritarianism, concentrated power, and the slow erosion of individual agency.

In this clip (from a 1990 talk), he pointed to something people could already feel back then:

That unless there is a revival — not led from the top down by “leaders,” but sparked by the awakening of the individual — we’re in serious trouble.

He said:

“Through press releases, soundbites, and the enforced idiocy of television, the drama of a dying world has been turned into a soap opera for most people.
And they don’t understand that it’s their story that they’re watching…
and they will eat it, in the final act, if somewhere between here and the final act they don’t stand up on their hind legs and howl.”

Before I even knew who Terence was, a young version of me sat in a lecture by his brother, Dennis. No idea how I ended up there. One of those God-nod moments. The ending of that talk has never left me.

Get it done before the sun 🌞

Training early sets your entire day up for success without sacrificing other responsibilities that require your attention

Best part is…everything that does need you after that will get a better version of you for it.

More energy, better mood, better health, better sleep, sexier.

I think it’s the cheat code for parents in particular.

And yes, if you’re getting up at 4am of course that’s early - getting up isn’t hard, getting to bed on time is.

But let’s be honest - most of you aren’t staying up late doing anything remotely productive. You’re watching s**t, eating s**t and sleeping like s**t. So take your ass to bed and get up. A week of this and you’ll never go back.

Look before your flush 💩

Healthy metabolism = healthy elimination.

Slowed digestion is a stress response and signal of decreased metabolic rate.

Loose stools are signs of impaired fat metabolism.

Stanky ass 💩’s tell you about gut bacteria.

I aim to get people p**ping at least twice per day - nice, easy to pass logs that don’t smell awful.

If you’re not p**ping frequently, you’re not detoxing, you’re marinating in your own s**t.

Good p**ps are a sign of good digestion, good quality inputs, good hormone function and good metabolism.
