Winter: The Time of the Cailleach.

It is again a time of seasonal change and the Cailleach has stepped through the veil and into our world. The fields are bare and the wind carries a colder edge, speaking of what is to come and what must always return.
And as the pace of contemporary life seems to grow faster, commercialism becomes the byway for how we navigate time.
But it is all to easy to surrender to this quickening rhythm and miss the natural shift of cycles and nature.
We are often catapulted through trajectories that push us like currents and tides, making it almost impossible to actually appreciate each day and the passing of the year.
And yet, if we can take a moment to step back we can separate ourselves from this way of thinking.

The way in which we measure time, and our lives, is based today upon the Gregorian calendar, which was introduced in 1582 to replace the earlier Julian calendar.
It is deceptively easy to see time as civil and regimental; days and tasks measured out in order to regulate life and obligations.
But time is not really like this.

The earth and the sun do not know the names of days or months. The star constellations change shape from a different angle in space.
From outside of the earth's orbit the concept of a ‘year’, as we measure it, does not even exist.
Seasonal time measured in cycles can help us plan and map out how we live, but every single moment that is yet to arrive has never existed before.
For example, ten seconds from now you will live through a moment in time which has never been experienced by another human being.
The midday hour today, which we automatically see as the same as the one yesterday is, in fact, a brand new moment, full of potential and infinite possibility.

The orbital cycles of stars and planets create the fixed canvas onto which we can paint our stories and lives. But those stories themselves are ours to imagine and live out.
This might be seen as another expression of the circle and square, or the spirit and the body.
Remember; although the modern world may seem to be the controlling factor in terms of how we perceive change, we can very easily look deeper and into the actuality of ‘real’ time, as opposed to the layer or mask imposed upon us.

So as the Cailleach begins her work, this is an opportunity to realign ourselves with 'real' time.
It is a moment when we can adjust to the turning of the year and perhaps still ourselves enough to feel the shift of worlds and the opening of ancient doorways.

And it is the call to cross over, for those who know the way.

She could never read maps. She now realises why. There’s a special kind of map she’s called to follow, and she’s re-learning navigation skills. She reads this map with her inner knowing. She downloaded it with her sankalpa to walk her path. This special map is lit with the light of her longing. The more she leans into her longing, the clearer her direction. Initially, she would be a bit confused, reluctant to give up her planning and caution, but it had the price of becoming lost. The map gifts her efficiency, economy & joy. Her body is her most powerful ally in reading the map. The entire map never really shows up. Just the bit she’s standing on appears. She’s so content with not knowing the future. She’s learning to become still and dives into the rich moment. As she’s coming into present time, she makes the amazing discovery that it’s the only place the ego cannot come. She’s pure and safe here. The key to her map is surrender. The more she trusts it, the more it teaches her ~ and she has begun to believe that eventually, every dot will be connected, even the most baffling ones. That’s because it’s not a linear map ~ it has cycles within cycles. It is such a freedom being directed and supported from within. She’s walking towards her true North. The map is within her, and the map is her.

This is such a curious, enlightening and revealing time if you are and this is the key receptive to what is being shown to you.

The awareness of and around your big karmic lessons is coming in and through in the most pertinent and obvious ways if you are present and aware of what is taking place.

You are speaking it and to it. The wounds that are arising, the repetitive cycles, emotions and thoughts are showing you oh so clearly one of your biggest agreements and lessons you agreed upon in this incarnation.

Pay attention to what it is that is taking up so much of your mental landscape and the beliefs and feelings you have about it and yourself.

Look at and feel into that which you are saying or feeling you can’t get through, you can’t let go of. ‘You don’t understand why it’s so hard or you feel so stuck….’ Etc.

This is not random.

This has taken years and years if not majority of your life to get to this point.

Take note, listen with a sharp ear, a clear mind, observant eyes, discernment, feeling and observing at the same time.

What is the ‘theme’?
