We are getting ready for our Easter celebrations and will be holding a special Easter Raffle for our lovely residents 🐣

We would be so grateful for any donations of:

🧺 Raffle prizes of any kind

All funds raised will go towards activities and experiences for our residents.

Well !! What a busy few weeks we ve had , morning exercises , ice cream making, pancake making and ofcourse eating , with lots of nutritious fruit . Alittle lemon , sugar and maple syrup . We have been crafting Chinese lanterns, Easter Bunnies and Easter chick's . Not to mention shamrock leaves and petals for St Patrick's day in March . Early we know !!!! But we have lots to do in such a small space of time . So lots of smiles and many giggles along the way .
If I asked the residents what has been your favourite activity lately ? I am sure it would be the homemade ice cream . 3 flavours this time
Lemon curd , raspberry and then a mix of raspberries and blueberries .
Our residents have been helping lay the lunch tables .
Colouring and some piano key board playing good for hand eye coordination and exercising those fingers .
A lovely residents family member taught us how to play uno , I lost ! Ofcourse . Everyone picked it up so quick . Throughout everything these were great team building tasks and activities . Helping and engaging with one another .

Yet another funfilled week at The Downes .
From making ice-cream and enjoying the tasting to a trip to St Erth for tea and toast , arranged by our lovely ladies and John . The weather wasn't on our side but nevermind we had a fabulous time. We have loved making Valetines hearts for the special.day . Today we made Easter Chick's out of yellow hearts , yes , you heard correct . Easter crafts. Beading was yet another lovely activity, making bracelets and necklaces . Colouring is always a firm favourite. Molly enjoyed another pamper session today . Having her hair blow dried to nails being painted and ending with a relaxing hand massage . Much reminiscing and singing . One very happy lady . Pat however enjoyed a shopping trip to our local M&S , Boots , Next and a well deserved Costa coffee. Many giggles and lots of cheeky laughs .

Mind games , perfection , connect 4 ,snap and hungry frogs . To end our activity afternoon more colouring and a treat from Mandys mobile munch box , enjoying ice-cream cones today . Lots of smiling happy faces . Yay! I love my job !!!

Starting our morning with music and exercises. Once we got going we gained rhythm and control. Lots of laughter in between our cooling down . This afternoon has been preparing our Valentine crafts . Heart decorating , smiles and laughter . What more could anyone want . Coffee and tea break, a must ofcourse . Thankyou to eveyone who joined in .

Chair yoga with some country music , to set us off on an energetic day . Using bodies and minds . Everyone joining in and participating with our ribbon exercises . This afternoon we were prepping for Valentines day and Easter . Lots to arrange . Lots of scissor cutting to use their hands and fingers checking their dexterity . Everyone done amazing. So many laughs and giggles . Pitstop for our afternoon hot drink , followed by our healthy snacks prepared by our lovely kitchen staff . Lots of happy and contented faces .

Start of another week at The Downes .
Games to limber us up this morning , then onto making a sponge , something 1 of our residents requested . Their wish is my command . Boy did we have fun making this . Strawberry jam , fresh strawberries and whipped cream . Icing sugar everywhere, and thats just me !!! 😁😄 again as requested colouring , while we wait for our baking to cook and cool down . Thankyou to all our lovely residents , what a blast !!! Xx

Oh my what an eventful week . From meeting Derek the Dinosaur to meeting Elvis . We have been colouring , one of our favourite activities at the moment to making buns and decorating them with butter icing using Elvis rice paper photos . Walks have been plentiful. Malcolm our owner visited this week and joined in with Elvis celebrations , always a joy when he visits with Pat . Hannah our lovely manager getting fully involved as always . Staff going above and beyond their duties . Jewellery making is a hit with alot of the ladies . Card making for some relaxation . Today marmallow decorating . Chocolate always hits the spot . 100s and 1000s flying everywhere ! Giggles galore and I m worn out ha ha ha . Such an amazing week ! Here's to the start of another fab week on Monday . Time for me to recoup and organise activities . Hope you all enjoy our amazing residents. They truly are the best ! X

Such an amazing fulfilled day . Lovely winter walks around our beautiful grounds and gardens .
We had a visit from Derek the dinosaur. Lots of laughter and giggles .
Some of our residents felt they needed some down time , making gorgeous bracelets and alittle more colouring in . They said they shall sleep well tonight .
Happy days spent with only the best .
