Drills to Work Towards Arm Balances:

Have you ever been in a yoga class where the teacher says, “and if this arm balance is in your practice…” and you’d love to try… but have absolutely no idea where to begin?
This 2-hour interactive workshop is designed to bridge that gap.
Characterised by balancing on our hands or arms, arm balances can feel empowering, challenging, and a little intimidating. After all, most of us aren’t used to taking our feet off the floor. But when you understand the mechanics behind them, arm balances become far more accessible, rewarding, and often surprisingly fun.
Drawing on Charlotte’s 9 years of teaching experience as a senior yoga teacher, this workshop focuses on making arm balances feel achievable through intelligent preparation rather than force or fear.
This workshop will break down arm balances into clear, practical drills that build strength, confidence, and body awareness. We’ll explore foundational shapes such as Side Plank, progress towards Crow, and play with how flight can show up in poses like Hurdler pose and beyond.
Rather than chasing the “final pose,” the focus is on:
• Smart preparation and alignment
• Strength and stability through the shoulders and core
• Weight-shifting, trust, and controlled lift-off
•Cultivating curiosity, playfulness, and confidence
Whether you’re working towards your first moment of lift or refining arm balances already in your practice, you’ll leave with tools you can return to again and again on the mat.
Suitable for all levels of yoga experience, except complete beginners. Come with an open mind, a willingness to explore, and a sense of play. Arm balances might be closer than you think. 😊
