Job Overview
Abbey Care is looking for compassionate and dependable Domiciliary Care Assistants to join our friendly, supportive team. You’ll provide high-quality, person-centred care to people in their own homes, promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing. Duties include personal care, medication support, meal preparation and companionship. We value kindness, respect and teamwork, offering full training and ongoing support. Responsibilities
Deliver personal care services including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, medication administration, and light housekeeping.
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
Monitor clients' health by observing and reporting changes in their condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Support clients with mobility and physical activities, using equipment such as hoists where needed
Implement behaviour management techniques for clients with Alzheimer’s or dementia care needs.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns or incidents promptly.
Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required.
Skills
No previous care experience necessary – full induction and training provided
A genuine desire to help others and make a positive difference every day
Kindness, compassion and respect for people’s individuality and dignity
Patience, reliability and a caring, professional approach
Good communication skills and a willingness to listen and learn
Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team
Commitment to maintaining high standards of care and following company policies
Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport is essential
Shift patterns
Our shifts are 7-2pm and 4-10pm. We are particularly looking for cover on Monday and Friday mornings to be included in your shift pattern.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.00-£18.80 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
