One of my favourite parts of running The Self-Help Bookshelf is hearing how the group experience resonates with people... the insights, the connections, and the “oh, that’s me” moments that gently shift something inside.

Over the past rounds, group members have shared thoughtful reflections about what the space has meant to them: feeling seen, feeling less alone, finding language for things they’ve carried for years, and discovering new ways to understand themselves.

With permission, I’ll be sharing some of these reflections here. I hope that they offer a glimpse into what it’s like to be part of a gentle, therapeutic book club that blends self-development, community, and real human connection.

I’m so grateful to everyone who’s taken part so far... your openness, your curiosity, and your willingness to show up for yourselves (and each other) is what makes this group so special. 💛

If you’re curious about joining a future round, would like to be added to the waitlist, or simply want to learn more, please feel free to send me a message.

You’re always welcome here as we co-create something wonderful ✨️

Last night, we hosted our very first process group, and what a beautiful experience it was! 💖 We kicked off our therapeutic book club with Brené Brown's The Gifts of Imperfection.
The women who joined us shared with such courageous vulnerability. I truly believe Brené would have been proud of the heartfelt connections made.

As we embark on this 8-week journey together, I am eager to see how we will grow and support one another through each of the guideposts. 🌱✨

Let’s embrace our imperfections together! 💪📚

Warmly,
Emma

Ever felt like you're working so hard on yourself... but still stuck in the same old patterns?

That’s exactly what we’ll be exploring together in the first Self-Help Bookshelf group, starting next Tuesday in Heanor.

We’re reading The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown over 8 gentle, in-person weeks, meeting in a small, supportive process group.

This is a space for reflection, connection, and growth, not advice-giving. Just people showing up for themselves and each other.

✨ 6 spaces left.

🌿 Monday Morning Motivation
“Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we’ll ever do.” – Brené Brown

On Tuesday 24th June, we'll begin our journey at The Self-Help Bookshelf with The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown — and what a powerful place to start.

This book gently invites us to let go of who we think we should be, so we can embrace who we truly are.

As we step into a new week, here’s your gentle reminder:
💛 You don’t have to be perfect to be worthy.
💛 You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin.
💛 You’re allowed to show up exactly as you are — mess and magic alike.

Together, we’ll be exploring courage, compassion, and connection — not as lofty ideals, but as daily practices of being kind to ourselves.

Here’s to an imperfect, wholehearted Monday.
We’re so glad you’re here. 💬📚
