🕯Candle light 🕯

Here down in the South, some of us got a bit more used to this over the last few days. Thanks 💨

I've always loved candle light, and through in a beautiful scent too...bliss!

I always get compliments on how lovely the treatment room smells. It's my little haven, which I love to share

If you've been left a bit frazzled by the storms, come and spend an hour with me getting your Muscle-Fix.

Give yourself time to heal....

I see alot of clients with muscle strains. Less common are ligament sprains or broken bones.

The unanswerable question I always get asked is 'How long will it take for it to heal'.

That is very difficult to answer as many, individual factors must be taken into consideration: cause of injury, age, lifestyle, stress levels, rehab, precious experience of injury, expectation of recovery.

This image, gives a useful rough timeline for expected recovery. Not to be taken as gospel, but a good guide as to how long you can expect your soft tissues / bones to be comprised by injury.

That doesn't mean that you have to be 'out of action' mind. These days injury rehab is very much a process of 'active recovery'. What you must do is respect and understand your injury and PACE your journey to recovery.

The recovery time might well surprise you or be not what you wanted to hear. But trust me, no one can force a quicker recovery by powering through pain. Discomfort is sometimes part of reha b. Pain is not.

Find a therapist who understands your injury can explain it to you and who can best support you through the quickest route to recovery.

I'm ready when you are! 👋

I've taken some time out from the masssge table to indulge in my other passion....

Yesterday I ticked off another one of my bucket list walks and climbed Ben Nevis. At 1345m high its Britain's tallest mountain. The weather was shocking and it was freezing at the top, but the feeling of accomplishment as we descended was amazing.

Now, lets talk about how my calfs are feeling today.....

See you all soon!

I have been overjoyed and perhaps a little overwhelmed to see so many clients in need since restrictions lifted back in April.

Collectively, I believe that we have all experienced a grief for the loss of close contact and the reassurance of touch.

Here's a great article about the phenomenon of 'touch deprivation'.

I saw my client’s expression change, and she said, “This is the first time I have been touched in over a year.” Touch deprivation is real.

9 days on hugely intensive training in the exquisite art of myofascial release therapy. I'm hugely proud of this work. It's a deeply connected method of bodywork that I feel that in these difficult and complex times will help my clients reconnect with their bodies, re balance their minds and achieve huge progress in pain relief and movement patterns. Massage does not have to be aggressive or painful.

It's not how deep you go. It's how you go deep.

Trust me.

Hello everyone!

Thought is was about time I gave a little update on what I've been doing and intend on doing during these challenging times. I took time during lockdown to revist my textbooks and learning materials from when I first trained to become a massage therapist, revisiting techniques and therapies that for one reason or another I hadn't used in long time. I fell in love with learning again and the ever evolving journey of bodywork. So i decided to take the plunge...and return to learning.

I'm excited to tell you all that I've enrolled on BTEC level 6 diploma (degree equivalent level) in clinical and sports massage therapy, which I will begin in the new year.

I can't wait to deepen my knowledge and share my practical experience with you, my amazing, beautiful clients.

The journey begins....

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
