It is a purpose-built home offering residential care to fifty people, including some people living with dementia.

What a lovely little visit we had today from the Crazy Daisy children as they came with christmas cards, cakes and lots of cuddles for our residents.

Our residents were thrilled to see them asking them about school and the all important question are they on Santa's good list which were sure they all are!

Honey couldn't wait to get In on the action as she was right in the middle of the children getting lots of attention.

Our residents didn't want the children to leave as they were having such a good time and the children promised to come back for another visit .

Our residents made christmas crafts today.

We started making salt dough which we rolled out and cut into christmas trees.

The trees went in the oven until they were hard enough to paint and decorate.

We added some ribbon so they can hang on the tree. Craft classes are always nice and relaxed as painting is therapeutic and our residents always enjoy getting stuck in.

Today we enjoyed the virtual theatre trip Dickens' a christmas carol in the lounge.
We enjoyed a glass of bubbly and Pauline made sure she got the best seat in the house as she had her feet up and said she thoroughly enjoyed herself!

We also enjoyed a christmas coffee morning / sing along.
Our residents tucked into a beautiful lemon sponge cake which was lovingly baked by Anne"s family as they sang along to all the Christmas classics.

💐 Christmas Flower Arranging Make-along 🎄

To embrace the spirit of Christmas, we’ll be joining Kathryn Delve on Tuesday, 16th December, at 2.30pm for an exciting virtual flower arranging demonstration.

Master Florist Kathryn will teach us how to create beautiful Christmas table centrepieces.

Our residents will have the opportunity to follow along and craft their own stunning table decorations.

It's panto time , oh yes it is!!!
Noth East Producers put on a performance of the Christmas Carol today.

Our residents enjoyed a heckle with scrooge and a good old sing along.

Well done to our lovely carer Erin who took a part in the production as the reaper.

No performance would be complete without singing some christmas carols
and everyone was in fine tune.

We would like to wish our Muriel a very happy birthday and also a happy birthday to Josephine for yesterday as she was out celebrating with her family.

🎄✨ Elf Day Celebrations ✨🎄

Our care homes and hospitals celebrated Elf Day in style recently, with plenty of festive cheer, creative outfits and fun-filled activities, all while raising vital funds and awareness for people living with dementia.

Launched by the Alzheimer's Society and delivered direct from the North Pole, Elf Day was created to sprinkle some festive cheer on fundraising efforts towards finding a cure for dementia.

A big thank you to everyone who took part and made this day such a success.

Tonight we had a very special visitor come along to surprise our lovely residents! Santa came! 🎅

As some of the residents were enjoying Christmas songs, mince pies and some baileys and bucks fizz from the tipple trolley, we heard the sound of jingling bells and Santa came to town! He popped along after a busy day seeing the local children at his grotto and kindly gave out sweets and plenty of festive cheer.

He told us he might be busy in the coming weeks so popped in to give everyone a big surprise 🎅

We grabbed some photos, wished him well for Christmas Eve and waved him on his way. He's hoping to make one more appearance before his 'Big Night' at the Christams Fayre on the 14th, so please grab your tickets for the event if you haven't already 🎄🎅🎄

Our Bedewell Santa and elves got to work filling gift bags for the homeless this morning.

They chose warm items of hats, gloves and
blankets and filled up the bags with sweets and toiletries.

Thankyou to everyone who donated items, I'm sure they will make a difference to those in need this winter and a big thankyou to our lovely Ashleigh who gave up her time to help fill the gift bags and bought lots of lovely gifts!!!

We had a little trip out and dropped off the bags at Hebburn Helps.

Another day of celebrating the Christmas season with a trip to Clays Garden centre to see the christmas lights followed by an afternoon of singing dancing with our first Christmas party of the month.

Doris loved all the christmas decorations at Clays and enjoyed a little christmas shopping followed by a big slice of chocolate cake in the cafe.

This afternoon we were entertained by the fabulous John doonan from the band the gaslighters. Allot of residents have seen John and the band play around the clubs but the biggest suprise was our Irene who gave John his first ever job.

Irene was chairman in the Y.W.C.A and employed John as a youth leader.
John said Irene was amazing to work for and did so much for him. Irene was equally thrilled to see the young lad she employed all those years ago serenading her with christmas songs.

What a fab afternoon we have has and are definitely in the christmas spirit.
Gill danced for the whole show!!

We were in fine tune this afternoon as we joined Barchesters live virtual Christmas sing along.

We sang along to classics including its the most wonderful time of the year and santa claus is coming to town.

Everyone encouraged eachother as we got into the christmas spirit. Gillian and muriel took to the dance floor and Peggy was kicking her height.

We have also been making Christmas decorations this week as pur lovely residents got crafty creative some lovely gifts.

🎄✨ Bringing the Magic of A Christmas Carol to our Home ✨🎄

On the 9th and 10th of December, we’re thrilled to join care homes across the UK for a very special festive treat!

Our residents will enjoy a recording of 2020’s OLD VIC: IN CAMERA – A Christmas Carol. Matthew Warchus’ big-hearted, smash hit production of the Charles Dickens’ immortal classic, adapted for the stage by Jack Thorne.

A big thank you to The Old Vic theatre for sharing this unforgettable performance with us. We can’t wait to tune in.

We have been lucky to be part of Hebburn Helps QAVS sponsored appeal again this year and were overwhelmed with all the gift bags that arrived.

Angie and her team do such an amazing job helping everyone in our community and we are so greatful for all the gifts for our amazing residents from all you kind people donating ❤️

We will have some special little elves who come to Bedewell every year to help deliver the gifts to our residents on christmas eve and we can't wait to see the huge smiles these gifts bring.

We will be popping into Hebburn Helps with our bags for the homeless which our residents will be preparing this week.

⭐ Threshfield Court Coordinates Christmas Toy Collection 🎄

Kind-hearted relatives, friends and staff from Threshfield Court Care Home in coordinated a collection of new and used toys to give to the Reuse Santa Campaign run by Yorwaste Limited ,who donate pre-loved toys to less fortunate children, in partnership with North Yorkshire Council.

Colleagues, relatives and local community members generously donated their pre-loved toys to support the campaign and it was a real team effort - residents helped organise the toys into age brackets to get them ready to send off to the council.

The home’s Activities Assistant, Millie, and Glenn, Maintenance Assistant, packed up the home’s minibus and drove to the local Yorwaste Management site in Skipton to donate all the lovely toys.

Stacey Nicholson, General Manager at the home, shared: “... Huge thanks from all of us at Threshfield Court to everyone who supported this wonderful project and helped us spread some joy this Christmas.”

What a fantastic initiative. 👏

🎉 International Men's Day Celebrations 🎉

Residents, patients, colleagues and families came together to celebrate International Men’s Day in style recently.

Throughout the day gentlemen up and down the country enjoyed exciting experiences, including pub visits, games of bowling and pool and plenty of time for sharing stories and advice.

There was also time for more relaxed gentlemen’s club-style activities, giving residents the chance to chat and enjoy some refreshing beers.

❤️ A Truly Special Dance ❤️

Residents at Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home in enjoyed a wonderful Afternoon Tea Dance at Brangwyn Hall recently.

A particularly special moment was captured of resident Dennis, aged 101, showing his brilliant dance moves. When asked what inspired him to get up and dance, he said: “I imagined I was dancing with my wife!”

Such a beautiful moment. ☺️

⭐ Congratulations, Bedewell Grange! ⭐

It’s been a day of celebrations at Bedewell Grange Care Home in , following a recent Care Quality Commission inspection.

The home received an overall rating of ‘Good’, with an ‘Outstanding’ rating in the Caring category, a true testament to the hard work and commitment of all team members.

To mark the occasion, the team welcomed special visitors and enjoyed delicious treats and pastries, all topped off with a homemade cake prepared by Head Chef Andie.

Well done to everyone on this amazing achievement. 👏

🌺 Lest We Forget 🌺

Residents, patients, colleagues and families came together to commemorate Remembrance Day and joined the rest of the nation in holding a two-minute silence at 11am.

As well as marking Remembrance Day by wearing poppies and watching the televised service from the Cenotaph, residents and patients created beautiful themed displays, laid wreaths, attended church services and read war poems to honour the contribution of everyone involved in the World Wars and in subsequent conflicts.

🎉 Happy 106th Birthday, Sheila! 🎉

It was celebrations all round at Alice Grange Care Home in as Sheila marked her 106th birthday in style.

Her day began with a pamper morning, followed by visits from friends, staff and fellow residents. Sheila also received over 106 birthday cards from well-wishers across the country, including one from King Charles and Queen Camilla.

The celebrations ended with a party for friends and family, complete with live music from SuffolkSinger Gina.

Sheila even made the news – and revealed her secret to a long life: “Having lots of boyfriends!” 😄

🎃 Halloween Celebrations 🎃

Residents, patients and colleagues got into the Halloween spirit of things by creating beautiful autumnal displays with painted and carved pumpkins, flowers and wreaths.

Many of our care homes and hospitals hosted fun-filled Halloween events with delicious treats, mocktails, live music entertainment, costume competitions and community celebrations.

It's safe to say that everyone had a spooktacular time. 👻

👻🎃 Bewitching Tricks and Spooky Treats 👻🎃

Springvale Court Care Home, in Wrekenton, , was a den of ghoulish activity as the home’s spooky Halloween Adams Family got into full swing.

Colleagues embraced the spirit of Halloween by dressing up as The Addams Family. Morticia, Gomez, Pugsley, Wednesday, Uncle Fester, Cousin Itt and Lurch all visited Trinity Square in Gateshead town centre to hand out goodie bags for children and adults, and everyone had the opportunity to have their photo taken with the Addams Family.

General Manager, Gemma Rooney, shared: “Our staff love any excuse for fancy dress day! – we’ve all had a brilliant time.”

The team at Springvale Court commented: “It has been such a fun day. It was wonderful to see everyone go to so much effort to get into the Halloween spirit. And seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces’’.
