🎸🤘 Rock ‘n’ roll came to Hawthorn Court today! 🤘🎸

This afternoon our residents and staff were treated to a special performance from the legendary Jimi Handtrix 🎭🧵

The puppet rocked the stage, the Handtrix amps were ready, and the crowd (our amazing residents!) absolutely loved it! 😄👏 There may even have been a few secret air guitar solos happening around the room… 🎸

We’re already waiting for the rest of Jimi’s puppet band to be ready for the big stage at Hawthorn Court. Who knows… next time we might have a full puppet rock concert! 🎶🔥

What a great week we’ve had! 🌊😊

On Monday we celebrated St David’s Day with a fun exercise session 💪🏽🏃‍♂️. I didn’t manage to take many photos (and the ones I did get aren’t the best!) as I was busy running the session, but it was great to see everyone getting involved, having a go and enjoying themselves. Plenty of smiles and good energy all round! 🏴

Special mention to Smudger, who even managed to join in with the exercises from his bed 🤣💪 That’s dedication!

On Tuesday we had our lovely Knit & Natter Club 🧶☕ – a relaxed afternoon full of chats, laughs and of course plenty of knitting.

We also took a lovely trip along the coast and stopped for lunch at The Powder Monkey 🌊🍽️. While we were there we had a nice surprise bumping into Hillary and her residents from Hartford Court – always lovely to see familiar faces and have a catch up 😊

The atmosphere in the Men’s Club this week was brilliant as always 👏 Great conversations, plenty of laughs and a really positive vibe.

Looking forward to more good times next week! 👍

This week at Hawthorn Court has been full of smiles, movement, and great company! 💙
We got active with a bit of exercise using the CricetCube ⚽ keeping both body and mind engaged. There was also a lovely glimpse into Men’s Club 👥 — always a great space for chats, laughter, and camaraderie.
To top it all off, we enjoyed a refreshing bus trip along the coast 🌊🚌, finishing with a cosy cuppa ☕ and a good old natter. Moments like these make memories that matter!

Today was a nice, relaxed day here at Hawthorn Court, with plenty of chills all around. 📺 Residents upstairs chose The Buddy Holly Story to watch on the big screen, settling in together for a cosy afternoon enjoying the music and memories.

Did you know Buddy Holly was one of the first artists to write, produce, and perform his own songs? His unique style went on to influence legendary bands like The Beatles, who even took inspiration for their name from Buddy Holly’s band, The Crickets. 🎸

It’s been another lovely busy week here at Hawthorn Court! ☕✨

On Monday, we spent time chatting all about Chinese New Year and discovering which zodiac animal each of our residents were. There was lots of laughter as everyone compared their signs and shared stories, making it a fun and interesting afternoon for all. 🐉

Tuesday brought a special treat — a big thank you to Steve for making delicious pancakes for everyone! 🥞 They were enjoyed by all. In the afternoon, we were entertained by the Harton Harmonies, filling the home with music, smiles, and plenty of sing-along moments.

We also had a fantastic afternoon with Ricky Nixon, who brought plenty of energy, music, and smiles with him! 🎶 Our residents enjoyed lots of dancing, laughter, and a wonderful Valentine’s celebration filled with love on Friday. ❤️

Sorry we’ve been a little quiet on our page lately, but grab a cuppa and catch up on what our residents have been up to over the past week! ☕

First up, we enjoyed a lovely bus trip to Wallsend, with a stop at The Powder Monkey for a spot of lunch. Along the way, our residents took in some local sights and enjoyed getting out and about together. The weather wasn’t quite on our side, but that didn’t dampen the smiles — it was still wonderful to have a change of scenery and spend quality time together. 🚌
