https://www.heartmath.org/resources/videos/why-kindness-matters/ The heart math institute is engaged in incredible work which shows how our hearts are so powerful, their electro magnetic field extends far wider than that of our brains, and how this awareness of our heart energy can help us heal as individuals and communities.
As humans we often close down our hearts due to pain or traumatic events, in order to protect ourselves. We can learn early on it is not safe to open this vulnerable part of our energy system. Body work such as craniosacral therapy can put us in touch with our hearts again, bringing us back to what we already know but have forgotten.

Why Is the Vagus Nerve Important?

Because information flows both to and from the brain via vagal pathways, the vagus nerve can be thought of as a major mind-body highway. The many branches of the vagus nerve are increasingly seen as pathways for promoting or restoring health and ameliorating the physiologic unease that gives rise to anxiety and other negative mental states.

Our bodies are so skilled at protecting us. When we are injured or stressed in some way we will often tighten in response, and long after any physical or emotional recovery this tightness can remain, even if we're not completely aware of it. Emotions that have negative connotations can especially get trapped in the body as we're often taught its not "good" to express these. Over time this can lead to illness and disease.
Craniosacral therapy is an excellent healing modality which encourages the body to release these holding patterns that hide beneath the surface.

Summer is a funny time, everyone here there and everywhere, or wishing they were maybe 🙂. For once I find myself looking forward to the gentle new beginnings that September brings, coming back to soothing routines and hopeful expectation in the air. I'm also looking forward to reaching more and more gorgeous humans, and asking the above question through the wonder that is craniosacral therapy. How are YOU really? Love xx

It is so easy to ignore our emotions, especially if they're uncomfortable. It is far more common that we suppress them. We are often taught to do this from a early age; as children we quickly learn which expressed feelings are pleasing to our care givers and so we begin to adapt accordingly, turning any negative emotions inwards. Over the years, if these patterns continue, these hidden emotions which are stored in our bodies can start to manifest as illness and disease. In craniosacral therapy we treat the whole person, even those hidden parts, which can help them come to the surface and be acknowledged. With thanks to

I love watching the videos from Brooke Holland, they're excellent for illustrating how relaxing CST can be for babies. However it's not uncommon for babies to be unsettled during treatment as well, they can arrive crying or sometimes cry following a physical release. Babies can still be treated whilst being held or fed and if baby is quiet mum can get some hands on time too!
