Birchcliffe Centre The Birchcliffe Centre - former Baptist chapel, now home to the charity Pennine Heritage and several local Businesses.

It offers a variety of spaces for hire, including a 300+ hall, meeting rooms and a large yoga/studio space. The Birchcliffe Centre is the home of the charity Pennine Heritage. It also houses a wide variety of tenants, from therapists and counsellors to ceramicists, designers and artists. There are also several different spaces available for hire to host events ranging from weddings to workshops and concerts.

The Great Wall of Todmorden, seen here being built in 1881. Built due to the expansion of the railway, it helped to protect the Rochdale Canal from land subsidence, with some 4 million bricks used!

New publication available ... just in time for Xmas 😇

We have a new publication! Using our amazing Pennine Heritage Digital Archive, 'A Pennine Canal' charts the rise, fall, and renewal of the Rochdale Canal. See the canal like never before through our collection of images that show just how important the canal has been to the development of the local area.

Copies are £9.99. Available to collect from the Birchcliffe Centre or get in touch to arrange postage - info@pennineheritage.org.uk. Dare we say it could be the perfect stocking filler! 👀
