X-PERT Health

X-PERT Health We help transform people’s lives through diabetes, insulin and weight loss education programmes.

X-PERT programmes are ideal for people who are at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes or living with prediabetes, have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes (newly diagnosed or established), and anyone overweight or obese looking to lose weight and transform your health. Our education can be accessed via GP Referral, Remote Groups, Digital Apps, Handbooks and Audio Books/Subtitled Videos. Our programmes were co-created with patients to ensure they deliver a powerful, rewarding and enjoyable experience. The audit results have clinically demonstrated that our programmes help people lose weight, improve their HbA1c, reduce medications and place conditions such as prediabetes and Type 2 diabetes into remission. We have been delivering self-care diabetes education since 2008 and delighted to work with so many commissioners and have the opportunity to share our knowledge with so many people. New Blog: NICE Overweight and Obesity Management Guidelines – A Step in the Right Direction.

The 2025 NICE Weight Management Guidelines support flexible, individualised dietary approaches — including low-carb. A major shift from the past. But there’s still inconsistency across UK guidance.

Digital awareness matters — especially in long-term condition management.

As part of our ongoing commitment to digital health and innovation, we’re pleased that our colleague Dr Sean Wheatley is currently taking part in the Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber Digital Ambassador Programme.

The programme aims to build knowledge in digital transformation, inclusion and innovation — insight that directly informs how we develop and deliver services at X-PERT.

From our Diabetes Digital Programme to our online training and patient education services, we continue to invest in digital approaches that support better access, engagement and outcomes. This is about keeping our finger on the pulse — and turning insight into action.

✨ Meet our new ambassador: Jean!
We’re delighted to welcome Jean as our newest ambassador. After completing the X-PERT programme, Jean regularly refers to her insulin book to stay on top of her diabetes management.

She loved being part of our group programme, especially the chance to connect with others who truly understand the journey. This year, Jean is looking forward to visiting her sister, continuing to live a healthy lifestyle, and even writing a book about her diabetes experience!

We’re so proud to have Jean representing us 💙
