Ever found yourself eating when you’re not physically hungry?
Most of us have — and it’s not a lack of willpower.
There are two distinct experiences we often call “hunger”
👉 Physical hunger – when your body truly needs fuel.
👉 Psychological hunger – food becomes a response to stress, boredom, habit, or even the clock.
Psychological hunger often shows up when:
• We snack automatically
• We eat to unwind
• We crave something specific — even after a meal
A simple pause can make a powerful difference. Next time you reach for food, ask yourself: “What do I actually need right now?”. Sometimes it’s nourishment. Sometimes it’s rest, comfort, connection — or even just water.
Understanding why we eat is just as important as what we eat.
