It’s world bee day! 🐝❤️🌼

We were checking our hive the other day and it was such a hot day the bees decided to leave the hive and grab a breath of fresh air. Apparently this is called bearding, for obvious reasons! They do it when the hive is too warm. Aren’t they amazing? Such calm and peaceful critters

Our Beautiful Bees - a quick update.
The girls are thriving! Queen bee is laying masses of eggs and the colony is super healthy and beautifully peaceful. When we checked yesterday there were a lot of bees carrying pollen, they use this to feed the growing baby bees. Interestingly some were carrying bright red and vivid green pollen! Very pretty! There’s already a significant amount of honey. I still haven’t managed to master using a camera through the big gloves, but wanted to show you this little piece of comb. The glistening area is honey! Have I mentioned how fascinating bees are?!
