🌷A Huge Thank You from Bransdale View 🌷

At the beginning of February, we unexpectedly found ourselves without our usual bistro service. This was a challenging time, particularly as many of our residents rely on this provision day-to-day.

We were keen to ensure that residents continued to enjoy good food and social mealtimes, so we reached out to local cafés, restaurants, and food providers—and what followed truly showed the strength and kindness of our community 💛

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the following amazing local businesses who stepped in to help:

🥧 Nesfield & Piercy Family Butchers – for providing pies tailored to each resident’s choice
🍽️ The Vault, Pickering – for delivering delicious hot Sunday dinners over several weeks
🥣 The Cafe on the Square – for supplying homemade tasty soup and a roll each week
🥪 Cornercopia – for delivering a lovely weekly Ploughman’s lunch
🐟 Chippy's Mobile Fish & Chips – for bringing the best fish and chips to us each week

Your kindness and generosity made a real difference, and we are so grateful for your support

We would also like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful residents for their patience, understanding, and kindness throughout this unexpected period. Your positivity has meant so much to us all.

✨ We’re pleased to say that this chapter is now behind us, and things are looking very positive for the future at Bransdale View. ✨

And finally, a reminder that Chippy's Mobile Fish & Chips will continue to visit every Friday going forward 🎉🐟🍟

🌼 March Round-Up at Bransdale View🌼

March has been a wonderfully busy and heartwarming month here at our extra care scheme, and we wanted to share a little look back at some of the lovely moments we didn’t get a chance to post at the time 💛

We were delighted to welcome the children from Little Years Nursery, who joined us for a creative arts and crafts session. There was lots of laughter, colour, and special moments shared between generations – something we always cherish 🎨

We also had an exciting surprise as Greg James passed through Helmsley during his incredible cycling challenge for Red Nose Day 🚴‍♂️ It was amazing to be part of such an inspiring event!

A very special highlight was celebrating John’s 90th birthday 🥳 We marked the occasion in style with a party, delicious cake, and a glass (or two!) of Prosecco – a fantastic afternoon enjoyed by all. Happy 90th, John! 🎂🥂

To round off the month, we were joined by the Beavers and Scouts for a lovely evening of flower arranging. It was a joy to see everyone working together, getting creative, and sharing smiles 🌸

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make March so memorable. We love bringing our community together ❤️

🍟🐟 Fish & Chips at Bransdale View!

We’re excited to share that Chippy’s Fish & Chip Van will now be visiting Bransdale View every other Friday!
📅 Starting Friday 13th March
⏰ 12:30pm – 1:30pm
📍 In the Bransdale View car park
Residents, neighbours and the local community are all welcome to come along and grab some delicious fish and chips.
You’re also welcome to use our communal dining area, so you can sit down, enjoy your lunch and have a chat with others. It’s a great chance to meet people in the community while enjoying a classic Friday treat!

We know just how much comfort, companionship and happiness our furry friends bring to everyday life. For many of our residents, a pet helps make a house feel truly like home.

As part of Housing 21, we are proud to be a pet-friendly scheme, supporting residents to continue enjoying the love and wellbeing that animals provide while ensuring everyone stays happy and safe.

Did you know that Jess, who runs our lovely Bee & Sunflower Café here at the scheme, has set up a Chatty Café table? It’s a simple idea with a big purpose: offering a friendly space where anyone can sit, chat, meet new people, or just enjoy a warm drink in good company.

Whether you live in the scheme or are part of the wider community, everyone is welcome. If you’d like a bit of company, a friendly conversation, or simply a change of scenery, this is the perfect place to drop in.
