Here are book reviews:

Amazon:

“This is an excellent guide looking at the principles of clinical neurophysiology. It looks at adult and paediatric EEG, nerve conduction studies, electromyography in adults and children, neuromuscular disorders, evoked potentials, intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring, autonomic function testing, small fibre and pain studies, sleep studies and movement disorders.

I would recommend this for those training in neurology, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, clinical neurophysiology, clinical physiology, neonatology and intensive care.”

Oxford University Press:
"The Clinical Neurophysiology handbook, part of the Oxford Specialist Handbooks in Neurology, serves as a comprehensive reference text in the clinical neurophysiology clinic. It is intended for those wishing to understand the individual tests performed, their technical procedures and data interpretation.

The book includes principles of clinical neurophysiology; electroencephalography and epilepsy; nerve conduction studies, electromyography and neuromuscular disorders; basic evoked potentials, including visual evoked potentials, somatosensory evoked potentials, and brainstem auditory evoked potentials; advanced evoked potentials including motor evoked potentials and event-related potentials; intraoperative monitoring; autonomic function disorders; small-fibre studies; sleep disorders; and movement disorders. Each chapter covers the common tests performed along with their protocols, common findings and relevant interpretation. Reference values, diagnostic criteria, recent changes in definitions, and clinical examples are included. Paediatric cases and maturation of the nervous system are covered in relevant chapters. The European Training Requirements for Clinical Neurophysiology 2017, the UK Clinical Neurophysiology Training Curriculum 2021, and the American Academy of Neurology Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship Core Curriculum have been used to inform the breadth of cases.

The text is written with the practitioners and data interpreters in mind. It is an indispensable pocket guide to trainee clinical neurophysiologists. Significant portions of the book are applicable to the consultant or attending physician with a specialist interest in Clinical Neurophysiology (including the neurologist, the general practitioner, and the specialist who is running a dedicated clinic in one of the subspecialist areas) as well as the specialist physiologist, who may be a specialist nurse practitioner or physician assistant in some countries."

Dear Colleagues,

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/J57KBLJ

The EMEAC ExCo is delighted to continue with our interactive teaching initiative – The Digital Hour.

This project, designed by the Video conferencing fusion/hybrid group is aiming to promote National Societies scientific achievements by presenting keynote lectures from current annual meetings, symposia or courses in front of our large audience from Europe, Middle East and Africa.

We encourage all member Societies to participate in the project, giving us a feedback as well as sending video lectures/materials with contemporary accomplishment, presented nationally.

Hope this will keep EMEAC teaching life more active between each European Congress of Clinical Neurophysiology.

The current Digital Hour event is PART ONE - Anatomical and physiological factors influencing variability of the 1st Controversies in Brain Stimulation Expert Workshop: Targeting Variability in Transcranial Stimulation Research; Munich, October 6-8, 2023; kindly presented to us by Prof. Andrea Antal (Department of Neurology University Medical Center Göttingen, Germany) and her team, organising the Workshop and producing the videos. With special thanks to Kim Zaiss (Executive Director- IFCN) and her IT team, generating the Digital Hour interface.

Please follow the link below to open the media:

Please note, the link will be active for 30 days after this e-mail announcement date. To receive a certificate each participant is kindly invited to complete a short survey after the lecture.

We are excepting you to be an active Digital Hour partner, sending proposals from your National Society with attached video lectures or other interactive digital events. Please send those materials or any questions to Dr. Antonin Gechev, EMEAC M-at-Large (antonongechev@yahoo.com).

The next Digital hour event will come soon.

Kind regards,

It is great pleasure and pride to inform you about the 50th anniversary congress of the Hungarian Clinical Neurophysiology Society , held between December 4-6, 2025 at the Mövenpick Budapest Centre Hotel (formerly Novotel Centrum).

This event was not only an excellent opportunity to present the latest achievements and innovations of the profession, but also a celebration. The 50th congress of our society is a significant milestone, which marks our decades of dedicated work for the development of Hungarian clinical neurophysiology and the expansion of diagnostic and therapeutic options.

Over the past years, numerous groundbreaking research, innovations, and clinical applications have enriched our knowledge, and these results have contributed to offering increasingly effective diagnostic and therapeutic options to our patients.
The scientific program was realized with the participation of renowned domestic and international speakers , and our guests will be: Prof. Hatice Tankisi, President of the European Society of Neurophysiology, Prof. Andrea Antal from the University of Göttingen and Dr. Antonin Gechev from the Royal Free London Hospital. It was particularly important for us to create a platform for professional exchange of ideas while respecting traditions, but also seeking answers to the challenges of the future. The main patron of the conference was Prof. Dr. Tamás Freund, Academician, President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. His support was a great recognition for our Society and our profession.

We trust that the congress was not only valuable from a professional perspective, but also served as a venue for inspiring meetings, new collaborations and friendly conversations.

During the Congress the Hungarian Society for Clinical Neurophysiology awarded EMEAC ExCo members with Honorary Membership for their outstanding scientific achievements.

Thank you for honoring us with your attention, and for allowing us to celebrate the 50th anniversary congress of our Society together!

On behalf of the management of the Hungarian Clinical Neurophysiology Society
Prof. Dr. István Fekete Prof. Dr. Anita Kamondi MKNFT President, main organizer of the 50th anniversary congress

Professor Adam Zeman intrigued everyone with his work to delineate both transient epileptic amnesia and aphantasia (absence of the ability to conjure visual images);

Prof. Jean-Pascal gave the Buchtal lecture of Peripheral nervous system signs and symptoms: A question of lesion, excitability, or central modulation?

as well as highly attended practical and theoretical symposia and courses.

The excellent scientific and social programs were supported thanks to the colleagues from both EMEAC and BSCN, scientific committee co-chairs Andrea Antal from EMEAC and Ronit Pressler from BSCN and the convener, Jacquie Deeb from BSCN and Hatice Tankisi for EMEAC.
