Our practice is affected by the current international IT incident. We are unable to use our clinical systems to view appointments and patient records. If you have an appointment booked with us today, please come along as planned, unless you have been contacted advising it has been cancelled. Please bear in mind that when you arrive, there may be a longer wait than usual.

If you were intending to contact us today about a routine health issue, we ask that you wait until next week when we hope to have our systems back up and running. We won’t be able to book you an appointment while our systems are down.

For an urgent need that cannot wait, please contact NHS111. You can also get help from pharmacies and NHS website. For life-threatening emergencies, dial 999 immediately. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding during this time.

Changes to our appointment system

From Thursday 4th July, Bennetts End Surgery is changing the way you book an appointment and access our services. Following your feedback, we are pleased to announce that the form will now be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so it will be easier for you.

To do this safely we will introduce a new online triage form which has more questions than our old form. The information you provide will help us to get you to the right member of the team at the right time based on your clinical needs.

This is part of a nationwide scheme across the NHS in England to improve access.

All patients, over the age of 6 months, are required to complete a form, so the quickest and easiest way is to do this is online via our website. You can do this for yourself or someone you are caring for.

If you are unable to access the triage form online, our telephone lines will be open and a member of our reception team can help complete the form on your behalf. If you are looking after a child under the age of 6 months, you will need to call us so that we can complete a form for the child. Again, they will ask you more questions so that we can help you see the right member of the team at the right time based on your clinical needs.

If you are able to do so, we urge you to complete the form online. The more patients that do this online the easier it will be for our vulnerable patients to contact us so that the reception team can help them complete the form.

Thank you for your continued support.

We would like to inform all our patients that Dr McFarlane is retiring at the end of June.
Dr McFarlane has been a GP Partner at Bennetts End Surgery for 30 years, having joined in 1994, and will be greatly missed by her patients and colleagues.
We know you will all join us in wishing her a happy and enjoyable retirement.

If Dr McFarlane is your named GP, you will be assigned a new one over the next couple of weeks. Please note, you are able to see any GP within the Practice regardless of who you are registered with.

Practice News

Following patient feedback, we are currently reviewing our process for appointment requests as we recognise that the current process may not be working as well as it could be for all patients, which is understandably causing some frustration.

We are committed to improving patient experience, and we would like to advise you that we intend to make some changes to the way appointment requests are managed through our website during May 2024.

We are confident that these changes will improve patient experience particularly for on the day requests.

As with all new systems there are some teething problems, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and we are grateful for your ongoing support whilst we work to deliver improvements.
